i agree with all of this which trust me doesn't happen that often ![]() i do like the screen it's nice and clear but it spends most of it's time being switched off. i much much preferred my old Kindle 4 which i used all of the time precisely because it had page turn buttons. to be honest i regret getting rid of it. best wishes koboy ![]() |

However, I have not read the book Anna and the King of Siam on my e-reader, and I do not have a Clara. (this last sentence is a desperate attempt to pretend this not off-topic) |

Very strange indeed! I just checked Kobo Netherlands site and they say: ~ 159,6 x 110 x 8,35 mm. I suppose we won't know for sure until we get the actual device (if we bother to measure [so precisely]). |

The Nook Glowlight 3 can't compare to the Manga 32GB's memory, but the 1GB side-loaded restriction no longer exists. You'd now get its full (available) 6.5GBs for side-loading.

So yes, shopping at Walmart or being poor has little to do with reading. Also there are quite a few other avid readers in this retirement home. I'm not the only one by any means. Not too long ago our little town of 3000 got a new bookstore, selling new books. It's a local store, not part of a chain, and it's pretty nice. It opened in a small shop and a few months later moved into a larger one. They seem to be thriving. We also have a very active local library. So to you prejudiced people, please do understand that even dummies like me and my neighbors love to read. ![]() Barry |

I have a Kobo Aura, the original model, as well as the Paperwhite 3 and the Glowlight 3. I agree that the Aura is easier to hold but it's a lot smaller than this one. Even so, the difference is very small. And the feature set while reading is superior on the Paperwhite. It's interface is graceful. The Kobo interface isn't bad but it's a bit clumsy. In my rarely humble opinion these devices are all so good, each in it's own way, that it's never correct to insist one is better than the others. It's very much a matter of personal preference. i may get the new Kobo. It's the first one that's tempted me in a while. I like having a lot of different ereaders and 6" or smaller is my preferred size. But I suspect the Paperwhite will remain my favorite. Barry |

The other issue, that sideloaded content sometimes seems to get lost in the device is still a problem. I put 125 books on mine and it only finds 121 of them. If I connect it and use Windows Explorer I can see all of them but the Nook itself can't find the other four. The problem is worse than it sounds. If I simply copy all 125 books to the Nook quite a few more get lost. I minimized it by copying them 5 and 10 books and then waiting for them to index before copying more. It's easy enough to delete the ones the Nook doesn't find and copy them back individually, which solves this problem. Still it is an issue and for someone who keeps a lot of books on board it could be a real pain. I never have 125 books on any of my ereaders. I only put that many on board to test this. Usually I have about 30 to 50 books on board so it's a minor issue for me. Barry |
