I was just looking at the Google Image page for 'opal,' and it reminded me that I gave my very first 'true love' an opal necklace pendant... I wonder if she'd give it back to me... She also has my copy of "Moon River" sheet music and my Varsity Letter sweater... I think I should have ALL of it back!

(I found her on Facebook, but the ol' witch won't even 'friend' me! Haven't spoken a word to her in 46 years, since she dumped me for a cashier from the local discount mall...)

Think carefully. Two months on the market, and HP is discontinuing them, along with some smart phones. You may have a hard time getting customer support, and I doubt seriously you'll see any OS upgrades. I'm sure you'll find some fantastic prices, but buying one is quite a gamble.

You should listen to your mother. Bad luck is nothing to play around with.

I was born in April; and as a public service, I'm willing to accept any and all diamonds that people born in other months may wish to send my way. I'm only making this offer because I care, and don't want to see bad luck befall any of our members.

I always heard that opals were bad luck, too. Of course, down here in the sticks we're very superstitious!

I've got my new computer. I picked it up this morning and installed it after work (it was a long day, lol). When setting everything up I discovered I needed to get a new keyboard: my new computer doesn't have a PS2 socket and I hadn't realized that my keyboard still had a PS2 plug. So I had to race to the store to get one before closing.

I'm now installing all my programs and copying my files back. It's a lot quieter than my old computer and when I've installed The Sims 3 plus it's expansion packs I will see how much faster.

I chose the parts myself and had the computer store put it together and install windows and the drivers.

However, when I was installing The Sims the system (HD I think) hung and it wouldn't reboot, it also couldn't load Windows and it couldn't correct the error. So I'm now in the process of reinstalling everything. I got Windows installed, all the motherboard drivers, the graphic card and now I'm installing all my software again. Sigh, sometimes I really hate computers!

Some specs:
Intel i7-2600 3.40GHz processor
1TB hard drive
Asus Ati HD6870 1GB graphic card
8GB RAM

It's probably a very fast system, but I have yet to try it out. Looks like it might be another late night.

I just bought my wife a new Fujitsu laptop this weekend. Her old computer was just too slow... She bought it 6 years ago and with all the advances in the field I figured it would be a smart move for her to have a newer one before everything hit the fan and she HAD to have a new one...

This one has;
Quad Core 2.5 Intel Processor
4G Ram (she doesn't play any games or edit videos. No need for anything really fast)
640G Memory (Old one had 250 and wasn't close to full...)

She only uses a computer for school work and Internet. Nuttin fancy. She's hard at work right now trying to get everything set up to her liking, but this computer is using Windows7 and it's brand new to her... and me! I still use XP!

I wouldn't mind having something a bit faster myself. Don't need it. Just want it. I've got 4G of Ram but of course can only use 3G because of the OS. On the other hand, I have over 6 terabytes of storage... LOTS of backup safety.
