I tried that, he argues the thermometers are wrong since he isn't cold.

Well, it sorted itself out. The thermostat had lost it's settings again (it does so a couple of times each winter, in summer we don't notice it) and the heating had been off all weekend. Which meant it was really cold, even my father thought so. When he reprogrammed it I made him set it to 18C, that means that in the front half of the store it'll be 14-16C depending on various factors.

I had a boss whose desk was right beside the A/C while mine was in a hot corner where the air didn't circulate without a fan. My co-worker, who sat next to me, had knee and hip issues that were aggravated by having a fan blowing on her, so I felt your pain. Glad it's sorted out.

We have the hot/cold discussion every day at work. Same temp and half the people are hot and the other half are cold. The hot people turn on a fan and the cold people grab a portable heater. It's ridiculous sometimes!

I wear t-shirts year round because I'm always hot. I also will go turn off those portable heaters after a bit too.

When did large eggs get so small? I swear they're noticeably smaller than they used to be. They certainly take up less room in the pan. The issue, aside from the getting ripped off one, is that two eggs at the typical "large" size of late are not quite enough to satisfy me. Yet moving up to extra large would be ridiculous, since they generally cost about 50% more, for eggs that theoretically are only 1/8 bigger. I could eat three large eggs at that price, but that would be too much.

I swear, one of these days I'm going to start weighing them, once I feel like finding that kitchen scale that's buried in some cabinet.

Switch to having three medium eggs?

Slightly more helpfully, I notice that "Size tells you the minimum required net weight per dozen eggs. It does not refer to the dimensions of an egg or how big it looks. While some eggs in the carton may look slightly larger or smaller than the rest, it is the total weight of the dozen eggs that puts them in one of the following classes"

So it's entirely possible that some of your 'large' eggs might be smaller than usual, so long as some of the others in the dozen are a bit bigger.

I would just like to find a carton of eggs that either doesn't have at least one broke or stuck to the carton.
Here there isn't much difference in the price.

Buy your eggs from the farmer. The eggs in the store are at least weeks old. And likely months. Or, grow your own where feasible.

What is a farmer? We have oil, wind and cotton. In a few places cattle, note this is approximately 1 head of cattle per acre or is it one cow for every two acres. I forget.

One postage stamp backyard can easily support a half dozen hens. My 8x12 Taj MaHen can handle that many even if I can't let them loose on the street. (We always did, and they'd come running down the street when I called them to tuck in for the night, but now we've got a coyote that thinks they're yummy, so they have to stay in the coop.)
