Why do people who have converted from one faith
to another, feel so zealous about their belief, that
they have to approach strangers in the street and
try and convince all of them to convert too?
Each to their own so far as I am concerned, but
don't try to sell me something I am not looking for!

Yes, I too have to be the one to figure out the beeping smoke detector. No one else seems to be able to hear them.

Because it is the greatest thing they have ever found. I have a few other ideas too, but can't print them here.

Now sir, can I interest you in the best manual food processor ever?
Oh wait, I don't know if you cook.

Oh, sure, go ahead, be all organized and stuff. You're sucking all the joy out of our rants! ;-)

Well, assuming that this was an actual ranty question, and not rhetorical rantiness, of course, many religious require proselytizing, as part of the particular faith.

Personally, I'd rather have root canal performed with a rusty spoon in a 3rd-world country without the benefit of anesthesia than to try to convert someone to some faith or the other, but then again...you know, ain't my bag.

Lol.
Well, I forgot to change the batteries for my CO alarm, probably twice, and it went off earlier this year. It didn't sound like your typical smoke-detector-low-battery beep, more like a mobile-phone-low-battery beep. It also didn't sound every minute, just a couple of times a day.

However, the beep did get louder over time. I finally found it when I was getting something from the shelves I have the detector in and it beeped, very loud right in my ear. So I'm not that organized.

My rant at this moment: my feet hurt. I didn't even work a full day. I managed to finish off the huge shipment just before 2pm. It took me four hours straight, no breaks, to get it done, but I did it. Today's shipment, with the bill my father needs to make the pricelist for me, hadn't come in (it wasn't until after 4pm), so there was no reason for me to stay.

Let's see if I can get at least half done tomorrow. There are some big items which will speed up things.

Arrgghhhh!!!

My Mini Cooper picked up a nail in her right back foot, and she's limping a bit. I keep pumping her up, but she only lasts a few hours before complaining again that her foot hurts. So I stopped off at COSTCO to get a plug for her, and they said "Oh, we don't repair run flat tires, and we don't stock that kind."

So I called the Mini dealer in Honolulu and they said "Oh, we don't repair run flat tires, but we have one in stock for $202.64 plus mounting and balancing and labor."

WTF, why can't they just stick a plug in it like they've been doing for decades? I mean, it's just a nail, and in the tread area not the sidewall. Noooo, gotta sell me a new one.

I guess it's the cost of the convenience of not having to change a flat tire, just keep driving on it.

Yeah, I'm on my fourth Mini Cooper, and they say that here, too. You cannot repair run flats. I still like run flats, though, because I've read that they don't "blow out" if they take damage at 70 mph. That's good insurance, to my mind, so I'll put up with them.

PS Don't go to eTrailer dot com for a tow hitch for your Mini Cooper. I've had two hitches from MiniDoMore with no problem (mnidomore.com) but wanted an easier installation with this car. Not a good idea. The hitch attachment bolt broke the aluminum frame of the car. Now I can't even get my money back, because the hitch was not damaged and so apparently isn't at fault. (Nevermind that it was THEIR installation instructions that I used.)

The car isn't badly damaged (just a torn through bolt hole, that was previously capped over) but I'm out the cost of the hitch, plus I have to get another and install it. Going with only MiniDoMore from now on. And I'm making sure to spread this story across the web, too. The other web site specifically recommended that hitch for my year, make, model of car. NOT good service.

In at least some states it was illegal to plug tires. Apparently plugs were (are?) prone to catastrophic failures in admittedly rare circumstances.

My Mini is leased so I can't put anything aftermarket on her unless it'll be easily removed w/o leaving holes, and I'm willing to eat the cost.

Besides, if I have any towing to do I'll use my Nissan Frontier with a factory installed class 2 hitch.

Thanks Hitch, I didn't think of that. Actually she's a bit claustrophobic and might object to being stuffed in a bag, sore foot or not.

I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow, just have to keep her limping along until then.
