Hi Pete as for you advise i checked the reading time from 100% to 50% and even though the sudden drop from 70% to 60% happened the actual reading timewise has been seven hours and half. So I'm ok with my KA1. Thanks.

Okay, I'll ask a different way. What is the version that Kobo most often syncs with at this time?
Thanks! . . . . Pete |

For the KA1, the common release version is 4.2.8110, the devices getting early roll out of the new firmware are getting 4.2.8283 (Kobo typically staggers the rollout based on the affiliate store in your config file).

I understand that it is possible to roll back to a previous firmware if one doesn't like the update, but how exactly do you do that?
I've never done that before, but I figure it is time to learn since with library access, I'm more likely to be connecting my reader to wifi. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk |

I have installed 4.2.8283 on my KA1 and am not experiencing any problems at all. If anything, it seems a bit more responsive. The sleep cover is also working just fine for me with this firmware. I like it.

If I had an Aura One, I'd try the new firmware. It's no harm as we can go back if we want.

) and it was at random times and on different firmware. When it's that few reports it could be completely co-incidental that these people ran into drain after getting the new firmware rather than being the fault of the new firmware.

But, as you are using WiFi to get books and otherwise sync to the Kobo server, you won't be able to not update. |
