Can I buy the $35 Fire now, and then call them on Friday and ask for a price adjustment?

Don't want any shenanigans surrounding in stock/out of stock.

Also: anyone seen a deal on Sodastreams (only tangentially related to a book-site, but I'll throw it out there)?

You could ask, but Amazon would be under no legal obligation to oblige you. They probably would, though.

Even if Amazon doesn't accommodate you, some credit cards will refund the price difference if an item's price drops within a certain interval after it's bought. Maybe you can hedge your bets by buying the Kindle with such a credit card.

Don't forget to activate the new 10% offer. Even if you've already activated this quarter, you still need to activate this new promo. The activation deadline is mid-December.

This is BF pricing. Sale includes some tablets, phones, computers, and TVs from the BF ad.
Say monkey, what's the full link to this early access thingy? Your link is broken. :sob:

Discover changes the "bonus" 5 percent every month and then there's usually a quarterly thing too. I think they also have a deal where you can spend your "bonus" cashback directly at Amazon.
The Amazon store card offers 5 percent back as a statement credit if you're a Prime member, 3 percent if you're not. But until these recent posts I didn't know that Visa or Discover ever offered that amount on anything--I even have a Discover card (which I never use).

I might apply for the Chase Freedom Visa card for holiday shopping; the introductory perks and the 10 percent at Amazon are very tempting!

Several years ago discover moved to a "sign up for the special rebate" thing. They have 1 percent cash back on everything else. You have to go in every month for the monthly ones (and they aren't every month if I recall correctly) and once a quarter for the others. They also offer some good gift cards. I save my Discover rebate thing and get a 50 dollars Lowe's card for 45. There are other gift card deals like that but I always get that one. There are some newer cards that do not offer the extra rebates (they are some kind of special other deal type of card and I don't have one. My mom does. She has completely different non-signup deals, but my deals are better). I say that because not every card they issue is the same.

Yeah. I can't be bothered to keep signing up for each special offer. So I just ignore them. On whichever card it is I have that does them.

I did activate, thanks. I didn't get an email telling me about it and didn't get an email confirming that I signed up either. I went back to the site and activated again, but still no email.

Sorry for lower instead upper case, but here in Italy months aren't important such as countries

That card has nice perks. For some stores, if I go through the Chase Rewards window to get to their websites, I get extra % points in addition to the standard 1%. These stores include B&N 2%, Walmart 2%, Microsoft 3%, Sears 6%, Sam's Club 2%, Nordstrom 5%, Best Buy 1%, B&N Nook 2%, Staples 2%, Macys 6%, REI 3%, ToysRUs 1%, Apple Store 2%, Kmart 4%, Lowe's 3%, Petco 3%, PetSmart 4%.
