As of now, I got the cutest chocolate fondue set from my Bf, a big cheese-Chinese fondue set from his parents and Umberto Eco's latest essay, "N'espérez pas vous débarasser des livres" (Don't hope to get rid of books) from my best friend who hates e-books ( ).

But I haven't seen my family yet... it's great to have many different dinners and celebrations during the holidays, you get gifts all through the week!

Hrm...well my little brother got the PS3 slim. I'm jealous. I have "old and busted" at my house. The new one is just so much cuter and prettier and SMALLER!!!

I got Left for Dead 2(Xbx), Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3), Uncharted 2, and Assasin's Creed 2 (Xbx) a couple t-shirts and some work equipment. Oh...and a white mage chocobo!!!!

I did ask for Dragon Age and the Joe Abercrombie trilogy, though Santa must have left them on his sleigh. Actually, I asked for a bunch of books. But Santa thinks I have too many books. So, I bought myself a $50 Amazon giftcard. That was my present for myself. The big gifts though came as a shock. More so the later than the former.

<3 my new 27" iMac 3.33 / 8gb / ATI 4850.

It was overshadowed though by the ultimate gift from the missus.

I've been looking for this statute since it came out in 2k4. I always got outbid on ebay. She found it though. And it has tremendous intrinsic value to me for what it represents. The image should speak for itself.

My husband bought me a fancy scanner so that I can start scanning in my old paperback books. He took weeks investigating which one would best suit our needs for scanning books and pictures. I have no idea what this one will actually do. It's going to take me a while to get up to speed on how to use the thing, but I'm looking forward to it. I will be out of commission for about 6 weeks after we get back from the CES as I need to have surgery, so it will give me something to "play" with.

Zack gave me the Marc Jacobs perfume I've been lusting over and Shannon bought me an Irish handknit reading shawl because I'm always so cold. Ryleigh (with my husband's help) bought me a couple of miniature wind-up toys to put on my kitchen window sill. My friend started giving them to me for various occasions and now I've got a real collection going.

It was a great day! I hope everyone was equally blessed.

I got most of a new computer. I just have to buy the hard drive. I also got an M&M mug as well. So I'm hoping that next weekend, I can start assembling the new computer.

It was a good Christmas at our house this year. Daughter got a new netbook, my wife got some more depression glass pieces and the Fontanini Last Supper piece. Together my wife and I got a digital picture frame, and I got a Kindle 2.

Glad to once again have an ebook reader. These last 6 months without one have given me a whole new appreciation for them.

Socks, of which I was desperately in need. Oh, and snow boots! No more cold, wet feet for me! <3

And loads and loads of candy. Mmmm, candy.

I am Jewish, so we don't celebrate Christmas, but I did get a fairly substantial gift card to a local mall from the combined populace at school (I am a teacher). Last year I used some of it to buy my Sony reader

And I got a lovely secret santa present courtesy an exchange we did on my fitness message board. It had some fun teachery knick-knacks, and a complete Firm infomercial kit including the equipment. The girl spent a fortune on shipping!

We've been trying to downsize our gift exchanging some. So this year, I got a bit less than usual, but even so, I'm enjoying my cool new toys.

I got 2 new sweaters (1 black with gray stripes on the sleeves, and 1 that's vice versa),
Supernatural season 4 DVD set,
Fringe Season 1,
Star Trek (the movie & it has to go back. . .my wife and I never talk anymore ),
Sherlock Holmes DVD (it has Matt Frewer, & I'd never heard of it),
Mio Mooove 300 gps (we already have one, so I have to take it back to the store),
$75 (including $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble),
and my favorite gift of the year. . . a Motorola Droid that I started December off neither expecting nor truly wanting!

Oddly enough, I only got the Droid because my wife wanted to get her mother a cell phone and Verizon insisted that we upgrade our plan and phones in order to get that one.

Also, although I didn't get a new e-book reader this year, I did give my wife a Nook! I loaned her my Kindle about a month ago to try (while I finish the book I was reading when I bought the Kindle), and she liked the idea but wanted the Nook. Luckily, we don't normally read the same genre or style of book, so there's little overlap or double-buying of books to be concerned about.

A broken water heater and the opportunity to spend the 12 Days of Christmas trying to fight off a Trojan on my computer...

Hohoho.

(I'm driving up to Cleveland tomorrow to spend the weekend with my family - I don't know whether to hope for better times or worry that my car will break down on the way!)

I got plenty aloha shirts, and my wiffey got a new Kindle.

I'm not sure if she likes it, she hasn't been very interested in ebooks. That's why I got her a Kindle; Whispernet makes it very painless to download books. I also loaded up a few of her favorite books to get her started.

Is it a USB mug or bluetooth? I'm told the bluetooth ones will soon be outlawed for use while driving in some states.

I received two sweaters, two goats, a cow, and a water buffalo. I'm very happy.
