Could the fact that this doesn't happen when using the KOReader indicate that the problem is software-related, rather than being caused by external temperature or a defect in the device?

My theory is that update somehow changed how eink screen refreshes in Kindles default reader. The fact that most people are not experiencing it, could be down to cold season.
If you can, try doing the same test on different file formats as well. Fixed page kfx, sideloaded pdf... They all use different reader, for some reason. If the problem doesn't persist across them, then the issue can be isolated to reflowable kfx reader. |
