I used ADE once about 10 years ago. I use plugins on Calibre for any ebook I actually buy.

Our local library is free and I use an App on Android for it as I don't own those ebooks.

To authorize a Sony Reader PRS-T2 for Adobe DRM, you need to open Adobe Digital Editions on your computer, connect your Sony Reader, and then follow the prompts to authorize the device using your Adobe ID; if not prompted, go to "Help > Authorize" within Adobe Digital Editions, select "Adobe ID" as your vendor, and enter your login details to complete the authorization process.

If this does not work, then Sony Reader for PC might work to authorize the T2.

ADE doesn't work for "his" Sony. Also it doesn't remove the DRM.

WILL YOU EVER READ CONTEXT AND ALL of ALL THE POSTS INSTEAD POSTING IRRELEVANT OF KNEE JERK REACTIONS!

Calibre is the best way to run the third party plugins that remove DRM. Then it's worth running epub3 to epub2 and removing stupid line-height and white-space. It's only a 6″ screen and probably only 167 dpi, not 300 dpi.
I do that with all azw3, mobi and epub imported. Additionally if it's from Gutenberg (download epub3 with images now) I smarten punctuation, left justify (only affects body), remove spacing between paragraphs, set first line indent to 1.3 em as well as removing stupid line-height and white-space in CSS.

AND IT OFTEN DOESN'T WORK NOW on old ereaders. ALSO IT DOES NOT REMOVE the evil DRM from the epub.

I gave my granddaughter a Sony T2. Calibre with plugins is much more sensible than faffing around with ADE which is a pain and only works on some OSes anyway.

You have to go to help > authorize if you are not prompted in ADE.
