I would like the next Libra 2E to be the same as the Aura H2O with a 7" screen, faster processor, and a bigger battery even if that means more weight. It would mean no buttons that I don't use.

Other people use the buttons and they add nearly nothing to cost. The bezel is non-symetrical due to screen & PCB. The Elipsa has no buttons but same shape.

I'd like two extra buttons people could ignore: Back and Home.

The thinner side bezels would not lend themselves to buttons. I like the H2O design. I'd like to see Kobo being it back.

Some comments on things people would want with a Libra 2E, but no mention of the "E". Does anyone want the "E"?

I would use the Libra 2 more if it was lighter, and if the screen was as good as the Sage's. It is yellowish, though not as much as the first Libra which I exchanged twice because of it. I ended up giving the Libra to a cousin who has very bad eyes. She resisted somewhat since she loved the Clara I had given her before, but was immediately convinced once she started reading.

Otherwise, I wish Kobo did a new Sage with a better battery, and an Elipsa with a better screen, comfort light and buttons.
My Libra 2 has a definitely better screen than my Sage. It's not yellowish at all, and neither was my Libra 1.

My Sage has an uneven frontlight, and is a lot dimmer than my Libra 2. So I prefer the Libra in certain lighting conditions, where the poor frontlight on the Sage is especially noticeable.

I wouldn't mind a new Sage with a better frontlight and better battery life, but certainly not heavier.

What difference does it make to the usability of the Clara 2E or the Elipsa 2E that they are made using 85% recycled plastic? It may make most people feel better but does that count as a performance improvement?

I would guess the people who want the "e" are looking for the "e" and it's performance improvement (or lack thereof) is less of a consideration?

As far as usability, maybe it affects the weight or feel of the device.

No. It feels like a marketing gimmick that at best means nothing and at worst is just an excuse to use cheaper materials.

But as long as the product is good and the price is right I don't care too much what it's called.

But I'm pretty happy with my Libra 2 overall. I'd rather see a 300PPI Elipsa, preferably with buttons, or a white/gray Sage with the problems fixed (battery, buttons, etc).

I would like an 8 in Libra. I don't want the sage with its writing layer which cuts down clarity, adds weight, and reduces battery life

That's right and if they haven't improved the software, it was painful using it to take notes compared to other devices. Even so, I still like how it is.

I don't think the writing layer (digitiser) is a layer on top of the eink (that's only the case with resistive screens). It has no effect on clarity. The clarity/contrast/sharpness is better than the Kindle PW4 (which has no digitiser). I have compared them side by side.

It's also only using extra battery when you use the notebooks or Pen annotation.
Also the magnets for the power cover add far more weight. Most of the weight is the alloy chassis plate which helps protect the screen panel from stress.
The battery run time is actually fine, but less than some ereaders due to faster CPU and the size of the battery (cell).

Better than reMarkable and the iPad with the similar Nebo app is more difficult to write on due to very slippy glass.

Also better than Elipsa due to being lighter and higher resolution. I no longer use a paper notebook or Jota on Android.

Does the recycled plastic feel any different to the touch?

Not as far as I can tell. One oddity is that the recycled plastic is often more fractionally more expensive than the new plastic so using recycled plastic is not a cost saving action.

From a question asked when the Sage was first released, I was told the Sage uses e-Ink's On-cell touch technology. On-cell is still a layer above the e-Ink film layer and the filter layer of Kaleido displays but below the frontlight and antiglare/protective coatings.
