The traditional Home Screen is removed, (along with the store links, and the dynamic widget at the bottom right)... the tabs at the bottom are My Books, Activity and More... There are no Awards.

If wifi is enabled, you can still sync software updates and dictionary downloads.

I may be alone in this, but I prefer the home screen. I really don't like Kobo's library view. I prefer the way my Nooks do that.

I'll just stick to regular mode.
