On the other hand, I likely wouldn't know that the second book of the Bartameus trilogy is The Golem's Eye. But I do remember it's the one with the minotaur on the cover.

Or using Dr. Drib's example, maybe I want to read that horror novel with the crossdressing nurse on the cover?

I suppose I'm one of those cro-magnons who prefer looking at pictures to actually reading* but I like the nice large covers on the Nook and which I could get them to be that large on my Kobo.

Choice would be nice. Use a text list. A text list with small pictures or have the option to use a grid of big pictures. That's why I like Linux, lots of choices for desktops — it's not "my way or the highway" forced on to you by control freaks who think they know better than you. What's especially irritating is when they take away a feature that was on the device when you bought it. New options? — sure. But keep the old options as well.

Don't tell that to the Gnome team

And now back to our program.

That's why I haven't used Gnome since they went to version 3. I've instead gone with Mate and Cinnamon in Linux Mint.

Choice is good.

Back to everyone mocking your question.
Apparently one needs portraits of Dick and Jane in order tell which one is which. The "List" option is better, but it still has sub-postage stamp pictures of the book covers which are completely and utterly useless, but provide post-millennials with a sense of self-confidence.

My paperwhite's backlight no longer works, and it's out of warranty so sooner or later I'll want something new. And it won't be a Kindle. Amazon has offered me a special upgrade price on a new Kindle, but I think the developers have gone insane and I don't want to indulge their insanity. I've been using Calibre since its inception and I'm quite adept at converting AZW to Epub using Sigal.

Back to the "Interior Landscape"!
