I'm in Canada. Not working via Firefox, but works via Chrome. Yesterday, it wouldn't work via the Kobo software.

Not just Kobo. Looks like Amazon web services is down. No Goodreads, no Britbox, no Audible. Some of the pages load but only partly, making shopping or even browsing out of the question.

I noticed that in another thread where mention was made of Goodreads being down, made me glad I use The StoryGraph instead.


However, I don't think the Kobo issue is AWS' fault because it's loading just fine for me right now in both Chrome and the Chromium-based Opera, and in PaleMoon, but not loading at all in Firefox. So it seems to be as davidfor said above, kobo doesn't like Firefox

I just tried Edge and I get...

This page isn’t working right now
www.kobo.com can't currently handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 502

This is with the US site trying to view My Books.

It could very well be browser-specific, but it's not just Firefox. I just get a blank page loading for the U.S. site in both Safari and Firefox, which are the only two browsers I have on my iMac.

My Chrome browser just updated, still no Kobo. Firefox is able to load it now and I've added a couple KoboPlus books to my library. But I think I'm gonna wait until it's properly fixed before spending actual money there, not sure how secure the checkout process would be with all the wibbly-wobbly the site seems to be doing.

Kobo website down
I appreciate that people are having different experiences here. However, this isn’t a browser issue, nor a platform issue. There are likely different experiences due to a variety of factors. Local cache, server cache, etc.

I just called Kobo and they are experiencing server issues—starting yesterday afternoon just like some of us noticed. There is no estimation on when the matter will be resolved, but they are aware of it and working on it.

Since syncing is happening, perhaps the Kobo device servers are working, but not the web ones. Personally, I wouldn’t attempt to purchase a book at this time, but only because you might encounter an error and need to waste time with customer support fixing it later.

When I contacted Kobo, they were already working on it but don't know when it will be fixed. They suggested clearing the cookies for the site as a workaround. That has gotten me into the site.

Which cookies? Right now I can't get Kobo to load in either Chrome or Firefox.

Edited to add: Ok, I think I got all the Firefox cookies tossed. Reloaded and now the Kobo site works again ... kinda. That is, I can log in and browse for books but cannot access my library to see books I own. The page just comes up blank. Have not tried Chrome yet as I'm still trying to find all those cookies.

UPDATE: Found & cleared Chrome cookies, now the site works and I can load my library page. Must've missed something in Firefox because it's still blank there. Has anybody been able to actually buy anything from Kobo since the site problems?

I did not delete any Kobo cookies and yes, My Books works for me with Firefox.
