I have a used Tolino Shine 2 that I bought cheap on ebay (like $35 cheap!). It has the go-to-page-number feature.
I mostly read library books and don't use Calibre so I can't comment as to collections, marking large numbers of books read/unread, etc. Are there any readers that actually allow turning touch off like the OP wants? I'd think pretty much any reader would allow changing fonts, searching for text, and use of USB connection. |

I know it's not much of an upgrade, but the PRS-T2's firmware seems to be more solid to me (and they're newer than the T1). Or maybe you've already worked out the "kinks" in your T1s.

Agreed. The Nooks, PocketBooks, Sonys and Tolinos can all go directly to the page number. I don't quite understand why Kobo doesn't have that feature.

I use the built-in ePub page numbers, so they're consistent across devices (Sony, Nook, Tolino, PocketBook and Kobo). Sometimes one device works better at day and one works better at night. I like to be able to pick up where I left off on one device and go to the page number on another. It's quick and easy when you can instantly go to a specific page.

The page numbering is important when you are reading multiple books including the same book printed and in ebook format. I may read the paper version at home but when I travel I like to have the ereader with me. The Kobo is unacceptable as it will not go to page numbers.
I feel I have to stick to the SON PRS-T1 as it does what I need. Maybe time to hit ebay again and see how the last. anyone have the SONY software for doenloading new firmware and the latest firmware? |

![]() ![]() ![]() If matching the page numbers between a reflowable ebook and paper book is very important to you, then you will need to start learning about either pagelist or pagemap directives. Otherwise, any relationship between the page numbers shown in a ebook and in whatever paper edition you happen to be reading is purely coincidental. And yes, paper editions will have different page numbering between paperback, trade paperback and hardcover. Even pdf ebooks run into issues since they often match the hardcover but that is not guaranteed. Personally, if I am switching between ereader/app/paper, I tend to remember more that I am a few pages into chapter 9 as an example. Or the last phrase I read and do a search on it. |

Oynx readers can do most of that too except turning off the dictionary and marking as "read". Well and they all have better USB C instead of micro USB. Probably some Android app that checks all those boxes too it could run?
Agreed that going to a specific page in an ePub is completely pointless. EDIT: Well actually on the models that have a pen at least you can disable finger touch in Neoreader except for the toolbar and you can flip pages using the buttons on that or use a Bluetooth remote. I think a PockeBook reader will meet most, but not all of your requirements. You might want to download a current manual and check it out. (Unfortunately I don't use most of the features you require so can't adequately answer your questions.)

Kindles don't support pagelist or pagemap, but software to convert EPUB to a kindle format does. The HTML for most of the ebooks had obvious targets for pagelist/pagemap. I have to assume that the same book from the same publisher in EPUB format would have either pagelist or pagemap. |

Again, given that the page numbers can and will vary between different formats and editions of dead tree books and you can only match one edition, the utility of page numbers for ebooks is, IMNSHO, very limited. |

However, if you have a Kobo, you can see how many pages are left in the chapter you are reading and if it's not too much, you can finish the chapter and then it's no problem syncing the pBook. So in your case, go to by page number isn't as important as seeing how much you have left in the current chapter. |
