too bad I missed them despite of I visited Halle 4 .I wanted to play with this unit to see the quality of the screen. I hope it will be available in US in 2009 and some providers like T-mobile will sell it for the reasonable price with one or two years contract.

Arrrg !!!
Failed - once again - save against shiny !
This is way too cool, and some part of me is glad it's not available yet, because I would have tried to get it, even it's a mobile phone and it has a small screen.
I have to plan a trip to Italy when it will become available, even if it's just to see it.

The screen resolution is too low as a reader competing with models like kindle or PRS.
Maybe it should be considered as a cellphone with EInk screen, then it is pretty cool.

I guess the readius (despite it's name) is more for the Smartphone crowd than the ebook lovers. Reading News or even Nespapers on a sub 3" screen like that of most smarthphones is not really a very rewarding experience. It does work, but it's rather limited.
The Readius could have a niche, all those among us who like to have the most up-to-date news on hand at all times and would like to be able to read comfortably might find themselves liking this device since it can always grab the newest headlines OTA, is compact enough to carry around everywhere and has that foldout screen to provide more reading space than similarly compact competitors.
The only thing I'm not so sure ybout is the screen res...it might be a problem, not only for fiction reading but for newspapers as well...

My interest in this device will have to wait for the release, which I expect will be of a SIM-locked nature. I expect an unlocked Readius will be priced prohibitively. I won't need a new mobile for another 3 months and I expect I'll go with the N97 or the newest HTC offering.
