@bunbury: You *really* don't want to do that, unless you have a pretty good idea of what you're doing.
And even then, don't. |

Thanks for the advice.
This a device for playing, I intend to break it ![]() I have a backup stock SD card that works perfectly. So I have no fear ![]() So if I do that, what will be the problem? I have heavily modified the rcS script and inittab so far (I am quite fluent in Linux) and so far it's working great. The last two lines of rcS are hindenburg (graphical system? Touch system?) and nickel (desktop + reader?). So my idea was simply to insert koreader between the two. So when I quit koreader, it launches nickel. What can you tell me about that? How would you do that? Last edited by bunbury; 08-24-2020 at 02:01 PM. |

So I tried many things.
The only way I could run koreader efficiently at boot was to run it last, after nickel. Then it works perfectly. And kills a few processes in the way. I have now a Foss koreader e-reader, that runs without the kobo software, running from a full ext4 system. The system as a whole is significantly faster. And I can have symlinks, which transform completely the way I handle my huge collection of ebooks/pdf/Mangas, etc. Thank you guys for the pointers. |
