For me the Hisense color is great, I am a cover book lover, and also I love to highlight with different colors. Just I want not a phone but a 7 inches reader

I suspect that color eink is like linux on the desktop...
As in they've probably been saying "next year is the year of Linux on the desktop" since at least 2005.

Linux on Desktop is MUCH more likely than Color eInk, because it's been viable for more than 10 years and for 20 for niche users. Win 10 is driving adoption

So not comparable. Colour eink simply can't compete with brightness & contrast of mono eink or quality of colour LCD even 20 years ago. Non-eink such as Mirasol showed some promise. You'd need a low loss transmissive four layer CYMK technology for any ambient light display. Each layer clear or translucent. White/Black at rear, Clear/Yellow on top.
Because using RGB or
RG
GB
filters on a mono display cuts brightness to about 1/4 or less, so it only works with a front light. You also need a minimum 600 dpi to be equivalent to 300 dpi mono.

There is never going to be a year of Linux on a desktop, laptop, or tablet.

I have the feeling that with WSL2, some people will argue that every Windows 10 installation could be considered a Linux installation though still aimed at devs who are planning on running Linux in the cloud. On the latest insider builds, it's not quite up to Linux running in a VM but it's getting much closer.

ChromeOS is linux. Android has a linux kernel. Linux will probably never take over the desktop, but predominately old fossils still use those.

I guess that makes me an old fossil then, since I just bought a new desktop...

...and most corporations. When is the last time you saw a corporate employee with a desktop (or laptop) running linux, or ChromeOS? I see and hear of schools giving out Chromebooks to their students, but that's not much different from computers in schools running Apple operating systems over the past 20 (30?) years...and amazingly enough, Windows still has a much larger market share on the desktop than Apple does.

John had specifically said that there would be no year of linux on the desktop, laptop or tablet. It only takes a linux majority in one of those classes to make the statement wrong. If linux never gets the majority on desktops (and I agree that this is really unlikely), it still won't make him right if Android becomes the most popular OS on tablets or ChromeOs becomes the most popular on laptops. Judging by what's available for sale now at shops, I'm not going to rule out the possibility of one of the latter happening.

But Android would have to be more popular then all the iPads and Windows tablets. I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

I think you've already lost there. When I look at sites such as Statista, Android has 60% or more of the tablet operating system share by number of tablets sold for years.

See Tablet operating systems market share worldwide from 1Q'16 to 3Q'19 for a pretty chart.

There are other sites and they show minor variances but they all agree that Android is the OS on more shipping tablets than all other tablet OS combined.

Please note that if we look at tablets by value of units shipped, the numbers change quite a bit.

You will have to come up with a different site. I am unable to see the graph because the system wants me to pay for it.
