Can I ask where it was mentioned about a Tuesday press release? Was it just on the podcast mentioned by John Hopper? I've googled but can't find anything.

If there is indeed a press event:
Larger screen reader with some form of night light, perhaps waterproof, USB C Smaller screen reader, same specs, so those that don't, for the life of them, want a larger reader because it will absolutely prevent Amazon from offering a smaller model from now on will shut up about it ![]() |

I wonder what color e-ink looks like in terms of cost? I would think unless they can keep the price around where the paperwhite lives, it would have limited appeal - text doesn't really benefit from a color display... could be good for a childrens edition, though... There have been higher resolution e-ink displays released, as well - Japan Display released a 600 ppi display earlier this year.
I'd like to see a return of the large screen kindle, but the market's probably pretty limited for that sort of thing, too. |

The only colour eInk display commercially available is the "Triton" screen, which isn't really colour at all; it's a B&W display with a "colour mask" in front of it. Not only does reduce the linear resolution by a factor of two (every "colour" pixel has a 2x2 block of B&W pixels behind it), but the resulting colours are pale and unsaturated. It's been used in a few devices; they aren't terribly good.

Hmm! An interesting question. I'm gonna 'blue sky' this, I think. This would be my Dream Paperwhite 4.
I'd like the C connector, fast charging is nice, but I'm more interested in having a consistent charging environment across my mobile devices and that "C" connector seems to be the new Android connector. I'd like EASY to push page turn buttons. You just can't eat fried chicken or French Fried potatoes on a PW without greasing the screen up. But I don't want tiny little buttons that require a heavy press. An acceptable alternative would be a tiny windscreen wiper and a small reservoir of screen cleaner (see splashproof wish). This tiny wiper blade would be to Amazon's advantage, actually, since we'd have to replace the tiny wiper blades once a year or so, depending on how much we eat finger foods. Wireless charging would be nice, but not essential. It's really only useful at home. Splash resistant. Better B&W graphics, I don't care that much about color. I have a tablet for that. I'd like it to link with my Google or Outlook calendar (But NOT email or messaging). I want to be told when I've got a meeting and I'm really "into" a book. Less than $200 US. I personally don't think all this is too much to ask for. Last edited by GlenBarrington; 10-08-2017 at 02:14 PM. |

Find an original Kindle Touch - Install twobob's "Vague" - http://www.mediafire.com/file/tlmcf5...dded-flite.zip Add that phrase to its vocabulary (instructions in the thread where he posted it) as an alternative to "page forward" or "page back". |

I was content with the 2 gig storage of earlier Kindles and still would be but I can see the need for larger storage by people who read comics on Kindles. However, if I wanted to read comics I think I'd want a 10" tablet with a full HD screen. Screen size and resolution makes a big difference with comics. Far more than with ebooks.
I do read an occasional comic on my Lenovo full HD 10" tablet. I tried it on an 8" tablet and I could read it but not enjoy it. The same was true on a 10" HD tablet. I could do it. It wasn't fun. On the Lenovo it's easy. Barry |

an 8 or 10" Kindle Voyage (a "Voyage Plus"?) for under $200 would be awesome!
More space or a different charging option aren't really in my desires list - 4GB is plenty for me, and the charge time isn't really an issue for me as when I am putting it on the charger, it's usually at night, so a few hours isn't a big deal to me (can definitely see the appeal for others, though). One thing that would be nice is the availability of parts - it would be nice to be able to buy a brand new battery when the original goes south. It's all about the screen for me, though - I use it to read, and that's about it. So a Voyage-like flush screen, with touch-turn buttons, and an adaptive backlight, but with an 8" or 10" screen would be great |

Don't care about larger size, waterproof or color.
I'd like a kindle with fancy built in solar charging so I never ever have to plug it in again. Shaped like a wedge, like the Oasis. And buttons. Must have buttons. But yeah, solar charging is the only thing I can think of. And I know its not quite possible yet to have that built inside a cover or device, without having to have the panels visible. One day I hope. |
