Since you removed them and updated Calibre, that tells me it was a Calibre problem not a file format.

True Harry. But that was back in post #4. Since then a number of people, including you and I, have made clear that this is not the case, though I'm sure both of us would like to be wrong. I'm just seeking to confirm that Katie1 still adheres to the statement you quoted despite the subsequent posts to the contrary.

I suspect Katie1 is referring to my write up in the calibre forum. The distinction between KFX DRM removal and the avoidance of KFX is a technical nit pick to someone who just wants access to their e-books.

Ah, but that is not what she wrote.
I was going by what was written in her post.

Your link is to directions on how to select (or avoid) book formats, not about how to change them. You even close with a line advising that if the desire is to change the book format, a person needs to go elsewhere.
Much different than "I followed the directions to remove ..."

Probably the confusion was helped along by Amazon's practice of either not distinguishing the book format in a book's post or of not mentioning the same book is available in different formats.

Although I have seen in the book postings: "Author (or Publisher) instructs us that DRM will not be used on this book".
Even if the book format supported it.

Translation:
KFX format book does not equal: "book with DRM protection".
Although most posts here seem to imply that it does.

Can you explain, please, what your general workflow is to remove the DRM from KFX books? (Not the details, which would be against our site rules, but just the generalities).
