There may be research, but personal experience (mine, and others here) says that there IS a difference. You might not be old enough for it to matter (apologies if you are, and just aren't bothered). After a day at a computer screen, my e-ink kindle relaxes me; my non-e-ink iPad is fun, but keeps my eyes keyed up and tense.

After a whole day on the computer also a paper book it not relaxing for the eyes. There are ambient light conditions where eink devices are much better than tft/retina. I use more often the PW than the Kindle Android app to read books. The default app settings increase the screen brightness so I disabled this setting - with max brightness reading was a pain. |
