Onyx has interesting models available. Look at http://the-digital-reader.com/2016/04/21/100656/ <-- this is link to blog by Nate the great Android, metal body, waterproof, frontlit, no buttons Have a look at Tolino from Deutsche Telekom. They do have front-lit waterproof model with 300dpi front-lit screen and tap2flip technology. Android is a nice thing to have on an e-ink reader. Not to play Angry birds or browse net, or install general purpose apps, but you are not limited in your choice of reading app. You can choose from CoolReader, Moon+ reader, Alreader, FBReader, ... Please note that most of Android reading apps are optimized for tablets and phones with textured page packgrounds, pastel collors and other stuff out-of-box. They have to be configured for e-ink. Some apps also require Menu and Back button for smooth operation so it can be awkward to set up them. Every time you need to go back one menu level you have to go to home screen, start the app again go to menu again ... Still worth it, IMHO. I was spoiled by great configurability and fantastic third-party apps of old PocketBook models and I want to have something like that on my e-ink reader. That is why I emphasize Android. In newer models from PocketBook the great configurability is eroding away slowly with each firmware "improvement". You can't, for example, select an app that would open a specific book using extension.cfg for some formats, you can only set an app that will open all *.epub files globally. |

They'll certainly ship their devices there, just as companies like Onyx and Pocketbook will. The fact they aren't available in B&M stores is not at all the same thing as your claim that they "refuse to sell there".

The ebook is traveling to me currently, will have it in my hands tomorrow. I will write my thoughts about it as soon as I get it and use it a bit. From one cybook to the next after 8+ years...for sure the longest living electronic device I use on a daily basis...
