Instead of derailing this thread into pointless complaints about someone's avatar, complaints that accomplish a carefully calculated nothing-at-all, I suggest you do what you were supposed to do in the first place, and press the report button (in the bottom left corner of each post box -- a screenshot is helpfully attached, for your elucidation). You can then file a formal complaint to the only people who care (and, coincidentally, the only people who can do anything about it), that someone is IYHO, violating the forum guidelines re: excessively-animated avatars.

Eh. I was hoping the OP might realise that using a designed-to-irritate avatar might reduce their chances of receiving helpful replies, and make a decision accordingly. Apparently not; therefore, I conclude they don't actually want to participate in a co-operative, friendly community. Which provides useful information to some of us about how we might choose to spend our free time. Done and done.

Your logic is flawed -- two people are on record as saying they like said avatar.

So instead of complaining, if it bothers you so much, do as has already been said and report it.

Another key aspect of functioning in society would entail not stirring up controversy and simply dealing with it in semi-private. Typically, we take people off to the side and have some heart-to-heart, not air the dirty laundry in public.

There are now three threads that I know of which are mainly about the stupid issue, and they are all two of them (one was normal, polite, simple and to the point, thank you PeterT) far more irritating than the avatar could EVER be...
