Wait, we're talking adding books to collections?

Plugboards only control the metadata fields in the book. Collections are handled by the device database. There is an option in the device driver for the Sony. It should be creating them as the default setting IIRC.

(Device drivers are a configuration folder setting.)

Yes.

When I added some books to my Sony yesterday they showed up in the in the collections "All Books in Order by Title" and "All Books in Order by Author" (something I thought I had set up via a plugboard). However, they did not show up in the collections of the series name or the tags (in this case contemporary).

I thought it was due to something in the plugboard, but if not (and I can see I was wrong) how do I fix the issue?

Preferences ==> Advanced ==> Plugins
Find your device, maybe by searching "Sony".

Easier to plug in your device and click the dropdown by the device listing in the toolbar.

Aha, that's where it was (I knew I put those "All Books..." somewhere.)

This is what I have under device configuration (see attached). However, it still did not add the book to the series or tags.

I have not made any changes to it. It did add the series and tags on 9-10, but not yesterday or today.

Yeah, it's odd that it is adding the books to two of the collections (abt and aba) and not the others. I have no clue what to do to fix it.

Thanks. I wonder what changed.

I will see if it fixes with the next release. If not I will go back to 2.2. Not sure how to go back, so will need to reseach that.

There are instructions on the main download pages, which will direct you to the old versions archive here: http://download.calibre-ebook.com

Simply run the old installer. You may have to uninstall the new version first.
