I do Bing for Amazon cards. Might consider the OneDrive deal, but I always worry about next year and if the deal will still be available or how much it'll end up costing me to keep my space or alternately will I be scrambling to move my data somewhere else before the year runs out.

I've been using Copy for awhile now and it seems to do what I need which is automatically save files in certain folders. I don't even know it's running. The free 20GB is plenty.

Dropbox only gave me 2.5GB free and that's not enough.

I use these cloud things for back-up only and don't download or transfer between devices. My needs are simple.

Right now it's $1.99/month for 100GB at One Drive. I can't imagine the price being too high next year. Dropbox offering 1TB for $10 a month and OneDrive plan is $30 a year for 1TB! I'm getting rid of my webhosting and moving to Tumblr which will save me $10 a month so if I have to pay $30 a year next year for OneDrive I think I will be okay. I got 50GB with Amazon I pay for I never use. It came with my Cloud Player membership.

I keep hoping Copy will fix themselves but they seem to be getting worse. Nonexistent support and slow severs and data going missing are just some problem I have read about. Box is getting better though even though they no longer offer their app to free customers.

I was planning just that to use it as a backup but it keeps choking and saying everything is uploaded when it's not. I have a 1GB of data and it's got 500MB uploaded and says it up to date. I restarted the program 3 times each time it uploads a little more then does the same thing over and over. I keep getting a gateway time out error too. It took 6 hours just to get that much uploaded.

Do you have a firewall or other security running? Otherwise, I don't know what is causing your issues.

I just checked my copy.com cloud and everything seems to be there. I like how Copy only needs a shortcut to save files. For some reason I can't seem to get Dropbox to do it.

I have always suspected that Copy has me on a crappy server. My account has never worked right and support was useless in fixing it. Others on their Facebook page have the same issues as me. I know it's not my internet as I can upload to Dropbox and OneDrive really fast not to mention I have moved to a new state since it began and changed ISPs.

Considering Copy is run by Barracuda Networks ($1.4 billion company) you'd think their servers would be very good.

Dropbox is fast and their UI is clean but like I said it doesn't accept shortcuts.

I was hoping that would be the case too but it's been over a year and it's gotten worse not better.

I don't know about Windows shortcut.lnk's, but Dropbox absolutely does handle symlinks. Symlinks are a far more elegant way to alias a folder elsewhere, as they work from the filesystem level.

Working beautifully on Ubuntu 12.04 and Arch latest. I have it on good authority that it works on Windows as well, but you may need special programs to make the shortcuts. (Or be happy on the command prompt.)

I'm glad you found something that works for you.

Of the 4 or 5 cloud storage programs I've tested, Copy was the only one where simple shortcuts worked. Or that I could get to work. Since Copy also offers the largest amount of free storage, it basically satisfies my needs at this time.

I am currently testing OneDrive. If you do Bing Rewards there is one time 500 (475 for Gold Level) reward for 100GB for one year.
I only use Copy for screenshots, and photos. I like their web interface for that. DropBox is my main form of communication with my mother (in terms of data ) as it is the only one that allows sharing of folders (as in: I put a file in a folder and my mother will get it automatically). I use OneDrive (I got a default of 28Gb of space there) mostly on my tablet as it works perfectly with Windows 8 and is especially nice for tablets (as you can very easily say which folder you want to stay on the server, which folder you want both locally and on the server and which folder you only want locally). I have my Calibre library on OneDrive. My Google Drive is only used for my GPX routes (in a KMZ format so I can open them with google maps )

And I just gained 2.5Gb on my DropBox due to the installation of Carrousel on my Galaxy Note 8 (it was 500Mb at first, if you automatically uploaded your pictures)

Had to work on a laptop today for my cousin which of course hadn't been backed up. I logged into Copy's website to upload her photos & Word docs to my space and it took almost three hours to upload 487 MB's of stuff (on a 50 Mbps down/15 Mbps up connection). This has been my experience in the past too. Maybe my account has some kind of problem?

Trying not to knock them too much as it's nice that they're providing all that space for free. If I use their Windows app I get a bit better uploads, but it's still quite slow compared to the others I've used.

I wonder if they expanded too quickly and their servers are unable to handle the workload. Giving away 20GB must have attracted a lot of attention.

Dropbox is faster but not usable for me.

I can't get mine to upload at all! It tells all file are up to date! I've tried restarting and adding a file and it will add that file then tell me it's up to date. 1.3 of 1.5GB is not up to date!

OneDrive is working wonderfully. I'm eyeing that $30 for 1TB a year. I can swing that Christmas if it's still that price.

I do this all the time between my mom and myself. Honestly I never have problems with Copy. I wonder why some people have tons of issues and others have none? Curious...
