It depends on how you contact them. If you go through the site and say your Kindle is broke you are immediately connected with a Kindle specialist.

If you just contact them you get India or the Philippines.

All I ever do is get their number off the web site & call. Guess I been lucky with Amazon! A few weeks ago I wasn't so lucky with HP was on the phone 20 mins trying & never succeeding to get thru to the stupid guy! He kept saying the part I needed was connected to the Motherboard & would cost $300! I could Not convince him it wasn't it was a Wire I was holding in my hand & I even read the part number to him! cripe!

The first thing I do is ask to speak to a Kindle specialist.

Occasionally, it doesn't work so I blow their mind away with science. Within a minute I have scared them with my knowledge enough that I get someone who knows what they are talking about. But usually they're pretty good about getting me a specialist after I reassure them that I DID try restarting already.
