Excellent point regarding enlarging the menu items, dictionary, etc. Something I have to admit that never occurred to me.

This is indeed something that Kobo developers should work on. Now they don't have to go so far as to have a very adjustable menu font size such as for the book screen but probably a 2x and a 4x would be sufficient. They might have to change the screen layout substantially though. And maybe only for the more commonly used items. Although I can see some folks insisting all menu items should be increased.

Even a configuration file would do. They could reject values outside of a certain range, or even leave it to the user to decide how much overlapping of lines and so on is acceptable to him.

I think one of the problems in making the UI customizable in any manner is the greatly increased requirement for indepth testing to ensure that any and all combination of settings work correctly.

Sorry to say but we already know that testing is a weakness of Kobo. Do you seriously think that allowing user selectable and sizable elements on the screen will be any less buggy than now?

I think it is rather a lack of interest by those who have to decide. Presently, the values for several resolutions are hard-coded. If these values were read from a configuration file instead, as much testing would be needed as now, and the user had the possibility to change values on his own risk. To clarify, I am mainly concerned with the font size.
