Ok. I can see that. I don't think Georgia has WingDings characters! I must admit I tend to focus more on content than presentation, (which might be why I have Android/PC rather than iPhone/Mac), but I can see there can be advantages to a particular style, especially if it is relevant to the story, Medieval Gothic characters for example.

There is hope that the Kobo launch in Japan will trigger a new firmware release, maybe they've listened. Although I would still put a higher priority on curing the communication errors with Calibre, which is said to be down to firmware deficiencies.

I prefer it to the alphabetic tabs now that I'm used to it because its faster.
I agree that scroll bar is better than the alphabet tabs especially if you have lots of books. It works in the "Books" section too. Makes it very quick and easy to navigate to the book I want.

Don't hold your breath. Japanese have no concept of the inherent emotional content of Medieval Gothic. They are more concerned that alphabet characters are the same width as Kanji.

Ehh, I'm perfectly happy with my T1, it is a vast improvement over the 600 that I had. I like and have no problem with the software whatsoever.

So this T-2 should have e-ink pearl (or is any fancy new techology available yet?).
Hope it's going to have higher resolution than T-1 and 650, so if you look closely you don't see the pixels.
Hope it's going to have a faster cpu so pages turn faster.
Hope it's going to be as light (or lighter than) the T-1, which is already good i guess.
Hope it comes in flavours so i can pick one without wifi cause i don't need it.

Between the slider, the search box, and multiple ways to sort (one of my favorites being sort by date added), I don't miss the alphabetic tab navigation at all.

I don't think we're going to see any readers any more without wifi. Too many people do want it, and it makes it so much easier to buy stuff. They want that store tie-in. Still, it is able to be disabled, and really doesn't add that much in build cost, especially with how Sony is designing their stuff now.

I hope they manage to fix the software in the T2 so that a complete shutdown doesn't make it forget that the author sort listing should be: last name, first name.

Plugging the T1 into Calibre seems to get things right, but if the device fully shuts down, it forgets that sorting order and goes reverts to first name, last name sorting.
