Do I want everyone to know what type of sleeze I read?

First off, let me say, this has been one of the most entertaining threads I have ever read on MR.
My favorite phrases so far, in no particular order, are: "mummy porn", "strawberry shaped wet patch",
"trying to envision my 70 year old mother reading bondage"

I think I'd be embarrassed about the strawberry wet patch incident.
Crawl right under the bench on the bus...

If my MIL knew about the tripe I read...I'd be shunned. Seriously.
(Told my DH if his mother only knew the things I did to him... ..)

But, as far as my Mum goes.... She got me going on the "Clan of the Cavebear" series, once I reached my early 20's
(ten years ago ) I was too young at the time, when the books were first published.
( I'm born in 80 & still reading Dr. Seuss in 86, I imagine...)

But, both my grandmothers were reading them, at the time, as was my mother.
My Dad's mother complained there was "too much sex" in them....
My Nana (Mum's mum) complained there was NOT ENOUGH.

Soooo, I've had a very liberal upbringing, and Mother was happy as long as I was reading. And now, I enjoy "mummy porn", too!

I don't know y'all about but I am getting tired of the phrase mommy porn that seems to be so popular because of 50 Shades. Romance isn't porn and Erotic Romance isn't porn. Molly Harper fits into the paranormal romance category. She's great!

I understand why we feel the need to hide from some people what we read specially if like my relatives, those people are very conservative minded. Sex in these books are used as a character arc to move the relationship forward between the hero and the heroine. I wouldn't try to explain to my mother or mother in law either who are too closed minded yet watches romantic movies, go figure.

I wouldn't remove the book from the archive after purchasing because then if there is a problem with the book you have no way to return it or wait for an updated version. A second account would probably be the best bet. You don't have to remove the DRM even you just register and de-register the Kindle as needed from the account. The book will still open as long as it's on the Kindle because the DRM is Kindle PID specific.

Sorry to offend, Blossom. It was new term to me, and it just tickled my fancy. Sorry to beat it to death...

None taken hon, It's the term the media uses for books like the 50 Shades series. It's very popular right now and thanks to the media alot of people now associate Romance with it. Since 50 Shades came out I almost daily have to defend the Romance books genre and explain the difference.

I think the term mummy porn fits 50 shades. It is aimed at that group of women the sex is very tame and written from a female point of view. I know it might not seem right for some. I found the books dreadful emo teens fighting having sex repeat over and over again. Neither grew up. So many people tho love it.

Well Amazon is having their "big sale" so I bought several titles and slipped in a Steampunk Erotica collection to see if I get any comments from the distaff side of my family. In someways life was simpler when I could just slip the Playboy's under my bed confident that nobody would ever find them...
