Absolutely. Having said that, 95% of my reading has been done on an iPad since they became available, so it would be an easy decision for me if I could only have one. Good to have the choice though.

I certainly love both my iPad and my Sony readers, but I could theoretically live without my iPad (not that I'd want to); I couldn't live without my Sony reader.

You already made that point. you do not enhance your answer by repeating it over and over.

I have both my 650 and iPad. While I like the iPad for reading eBooks, the 650 is a lot more portable with better battery life.

I use my iPad extensively for reading and annotating pdfs, and my e-ink devices for 'fun' books. I love both. The iPad screen doesn't bother me.

I wasn't repeating myself, I was clarifying my first post.

I have just started trying to read on the ipad, in stanza, and I find that way too big. There's something about iBooks that doesn't twek my interest very much, but I also tried reading in Apabi reader, in landscape, and that works for me. Alas, Apabi doesnt have very good management of library (its similar, but not the same as, ibooks.... i wish more would pick up authors from the metadata, and then arrange a sparate author listing like Stanza does... but none do, except Megareader and its clumsy... just not getting there IMO). Anyway, reading in landcape with Apabi, is very easy (and actually quite elegant!).

I'm using my 650 sometimes but now that I am not out and about anymore, I find I hardly ever use it. And I havent yet found a good way to manage thousands of books on it. It slows down a lot, once you have a lot of books in there.

Yes, SkinDigital have a case that works as a stand, so you could sit the iPad on your lap and read hands free almost

There is also a cushion available, forgotten where I saw it, designed to hold your iPad on it, I presume they use Velcro
