I've cooked a turkey breast in the Weber two Christmas' in a row now. But we serve it cold with other cold meats and salads. It's usually about 35-40C on Christmas day. Too hot. Although an awful lot of Aussies still have a traditional roast. That reminds me. I had better get my order in.
My butcher was telling me that he saves up lamb bones and freezes them all year round for Christmas. He said he goes through about a 1000 bones at Christmas. Apparently there are a lot of lucky dogs in town on Christmas day. |

True. I've never known anyone who had goose either though if you go by things like A Christmas Carol and The Blue Carbuncle (Sherlock Holmes) goose is the traditional fare.

We stopped with the turkey years ago. I was the only one willing to eat the dark meat. No one but me will eat venison either, except for that made into garlic sausage. So our routine is usually ham for Thanksgiving, prime rib or pot roast for Christmas, and fish for New Year's Day.

In addition to a gluttonous stuffing of turkey, it should not be forgotten that Thanksgiving is followed by a day of full contact shopping.
More on that here. |
