You won't be typing away on an e-ink screen, DonalDuck - e-ink is far too slow to refresh for you to be doing more than a little hunting and pecking to look up a word. And from what I hear, the keyboard on the Kindle isn't up to much either.

Sorry.

Why you need typing while reading a book, I don't understand. The things I type on my Kindle keyboard is when I search, use Internet (barely) or buying books. It is nice that is physical because the feeling and really responsive, but I don't do more than that.

Are you talking about annotations maybe? If that's the case or you want to edit PDFs, maybe you need a tablet, like an iPad.

eink displays are not suitable for heavy typing or editing. As a matter of fact, editing capabilities are usually restricted by the vendor so you won't be able to alter the ebook anyway, not a regular ebook coming from B&N, Amazon, Sony, etc.

I don't want to edit ebooks, just make come notes. I prefer a ebook reader, because a friend has one, and the eink screen is fantastic.
A table is more expensive, and the lcd screen tires my eyes and makes me headaches. But I really don't need a tablet, just an ebook reader where I can make some annotations while reading books, for example.

Thanks for the replies,
DD

Yeah,

You can make simple notes or annotations with Kindle 3, that's for sure.

The Sony also supports notes and annotations. You can write freehand or use the onscreen keyboard. It comes with a stylus that supports either option.

I think you'll have more answers if you asked your questions in the dedicated forum, especially for pocektbook, as itis not as widely used as the kindle or the sony.
With the new firmware you can hook up a bluetooth keyboard to the PB603 - but touch inputis only via stylus.
As for hte ergonomics, I agree with what it has been said above that it is important - so e.g. with the pocketbook you can turn pages by flicking your wrist. The main advantage that I see in owning a pocketbook is that it is fully customizable, so perfect if you are a bit of a geek: you can put your own fonts, you can choose between various reading softwares, etc etc. If you prefer to use things easily out of the box, probably pocketbook is not for you.

Thanks polly. Sony touch screens are indeed good, but I'm starting to think that I prefer Amazon costumer service and kindle 3 keyboard.

thanks paola. Now a have a better idea of pocketbook, and although I like it, I think I'll start with kindle 3 or 4. The pocketbook will have to wait... but it is my second choice. I like to customize and all that, but it is more expensive, and they aren't that different in functionalitys and i think it is best for me to start with something simple, don't you think?
