Convenience.
I use my Kindle at home; I use my Droid phone when I'm traveling. Saves space and keeps me from having to lug around a half-dozen gadgets. |

I have a Nook & a Kindle3. Seems like I read mostly mystery on my Kindle & everything else on my Nook. Don't know why .

I tend to use my Kindle for general reading and the Nook while on the treadmill. The Nook sits better on the treadmill magazine rack because of its thickness. It's also easier to swipe the touchscreen for page turns instead of pushing buttons. I prefer the Kindle when I'm just sitting and reading because it's lighter, easier to hold on to and I actually like the page turn buttons in that situation. If I could combine the best features of both my e-readers I'd have THE perfect e-reader.

The PB360 is my main device, both home and abroad. I use the Jetbook when I am reading B&N epubs (yeah, I know I could strip DRM, but can't be arsed, and I kind of like switching off). I use the EZReader to "lend" ebooks--I just put the ebooks on the device and lend the device, and receive it back with books on it. I don't use the Cybook a whole lot--just for testing when I want to see a book on a 6" screen.
Oh, and read off the Pre when I forget my device or it runs out of juice or for whatever reason I don't want to carry a reader. For instance, on a day I will be going to a ballgame after work, I bring a very small handbag to work and only bring the phone. So I use the phone as a reading device for my train ride to work, the subway to the ballpark, and the subway/train home again. |

I use my Sony 300 strictly for library books (that's the only reason I bought it). It has some features I like, but my Kindle 3 is much the preferred reader just with a better by far reading experience.

I have a Nook Color and a Kindle 2.
I use my Nook Color when I am at home and I use the Kindle everywhere else. My limitation is the battery life so that keeps the Nook Color at home and plugged in. The Kindle 2 has great battery life so I take it to work and use it at other times when I need to wait for something. It also is the one that goes on trips where there will be no power to recharge the e-reader. |

I have a Kindle and mainly use that. However, once I update my phone I will be installing the Kindle app on it and use it for those times when I don't have my Kindle with me - ie. while waiting for my pizza at a pizza shop, standing in a long queue during a sale etc...

I read pdf- and doc-files on my Pocketbook902 and mobi- and html-files on my Cybook Gen3. In other words: the usage of the devices is strictly devided between reading for duty and reading for fun!

I don't use my Cybooks (GEN 3 and Opus) anymore, because the PRS350 is far more better.
I started reading ebooks years ago with a Palm TX. I enjoyed the GEN 3 as my first e-ink device, but the lack of folders was awful. Then the Opus (more portable than the GEN 3) and the possibility to use folders, but the navigation with a few hundreds books (452 ebooks today) was still not good enough. And then came the PRS350: selection can be made by author, by date, by last read, by book name and by file name, with an index on the rigth margin. With the help of the touch screen you can highligtht text, search, go to a definition or a translation in 12 dictionaries (included) . I also used one collection for the next books I want to read: the collections are managed from the device itself, without any intervention from a PC. And the PRS-350 is incredibly light yet sturdy in your hands, and it easily fits in a roomy pocket. I always have it with me, beeing able to read everywhere (it starts in a fraction of a second). |

Thanks for your replies everyone!
I'll answer my own question now that I have two readers. I use my PRS-350 for all my on the go reading. It is with me on the bus, on vacation, at lunch -- it basically lives in my purse. I love how small and light it is. My new toy, the rooted NC, is my at home reader. I'm really liking the backlit screen for allowing me to read in parts of the house that just aren't that well lit. Especially by the fireplace! I also like being able to do a quick email check or web surf. And finally, this is the perfect size device (for me) for reading the newspaper (yay NYT app). |

I use my iPad for occasional reading in specific formats. It works best for Manga and books which need colour reproduction for the images. i use it in low light situations and keep the backlight at the lowest level when so doing. At home, in the evening or in bed the iPad is nice to use.
In most situations I use the Kindle 3. It result in far less eye strain and the screen is very clear in normal lighting. The iPod Touch is the least used of my three devices as a reader, but the small screen is easier to use than one might think. One only gets maybe a paragraph or so on the screen so there's lots of page turning! And you've got to watch the battery level. It's useful for short sessions. |

And In now have added a Sony PRS-350 to my toys. I use this one to carry around in my purse. I have to admit I really like reading with it.
