Yeah, that's not a good sign. There shouldn't be any issues after rooting. Let us know if you need help getting things right.

I had loaded two calendars to check them both out, I just took off business cal and I still have touch cal on there. I think I may just root to make sure it is all clean. When I performed the root I did notice all of my books were still loaded. If I pulled the plug too soon it would not have worked at all correct?

If you rooted using the auto process, then all things Google should work. You should try the Market, Gmail, Google Books, etc. before downloading and installing other stuff. This gives you a chance to identify issues very quickly without muddying the waters.

Understood. Also, don't hesitate to uninstall stuff. If something starting acting flaky after you installed a certain app, get rid of it. You can always re-install when things are flushed out.

How long did you have the device before you rooted it? Sometimes it's good to play around with something "as is" for a bit to see if there are any defects.

Thanks for all your help, I reset then re-rooted, it took me some time. it kept wanting me to sign into my gmail as if I had an android phone. Once I skipped it all I was able to sign into gmail and get into the store. I checked the gmail and it works, the calendar said my gmail calendar was loaded but I did not see any entry's. I just downloaded the calendar program you use and I'm rebooting.

I will wait a while to download additional programs as I just dont have time right now. I saw the thread on apps that work and cant wait to try some of them. it is difficult to browse the store unless I know the name of a specific app it only provides about one page of apps. I will check the other forum but any suggestions on the best browser to possibly download?

Oh ya, I'v had my nook for about 1.5 months.

For Market turn the screen to landscape and you'll see more apps. Also download the Appbrain app for a nicer view of Market content. For a browser, try Dolphin HD.

Yes, the options within each app.

"It is freezing up"... you just rooted, did you install any other apps? It shouldn't be trying to sync anything on its own, unless you installed something that would try to sync. But that shouldn't cause it to freeze. The app just would not be able to sync. People turn off wifi all of the time or are simply not connected to a network.

What are you doing when it freezes up?
Thanks again for your help. I learned the root did not take correctly and started over. second or third time around I added my gmail account even though it was showing in the accounts. it added and had these two check boxes to sync calendar and I believe the other was email. When I first set up the root these options were never shown to me to activate. I was also having issues actually completing the setup after root.
