Just to clarify: those books work normally, displaying the embedded font and all. I'm just confused about this error message. It says the font is not valid, and that's all. No further explanation and no consequences either.

Now mousing over a font will show you the font name in a tooltip. You get that mesage when calibre could not parse the font. PM me a file where this error happens and I will take a look.

Using either the File or the Book level flower icon does not unwrap (remove unnecessary newlines) the body text. I could not even get S&R to use the selection (both Normal and REGEX)fro end to start of next line)

As far as I know there have been no changes to this functionality, but if you are seeing a difference, PM me a book alongwith a description of steps to see the problem.

That contains details of how to avoid this problem. It will be perfectly safe to do this. Like I said, to me, all fonts are showing this error message. Here is one file you could test:

Ah that's a limitation of Qt on windows with fonts that use CFF outlines. Will use calibre code instead, that should fix it.

I would like to see a feature for increasing/decreasing font size using Ctrl+mouse scroll Up/Down in E-book viewer on Linux and Windows. Font size change does work using Ctrl+"numpad +" and Ctrl+"numpad -". At least on Linux where I am testing.

This works in many, many other programs, including MSOffice, LibreOffice, Chrome, Firefox, quite a few Linux X-window programs I am using ...

@DoctorOhh: I have added a dedicated setting for viewer background images, you can even fade the image if you like. No need to mess around with stylesheets for this anymore.

Released 3.99.8 which is hopefully the last beta. The viewer gains options to control cover aspect ratio and display a custom background image below the text. And various misc minor bugs reported here have been fixed.
