Got my new Oasis today, first impressions

What format are your sideloaded books in? I loaded some in Mobi format and didn't get covers. I converted them to AZW3 and the covers showed up on my Oasis.

Can anyone tell me how i get my battery to show a %, i see some are saying they have percentages but i can't find it in the settings. Thanks

*grumble* I am going to have to go through the rigamarole of loading 10-20 books at a time and waiting until they index before loading more. I put around 300 books on the device on Tuesday night, and right now (Thursday morning) I've still got 130 left to index. It's obviously getting stuck someplace. I kept an eye on it most of Wednesday and it took the whole day to index about 50 books. Very slow for me.

Go to your Accessibility Settings, and switch the Display Size to "Large."

Due to an issue getting this Kindle registered it has about 4 books on it! In this case it is definitely not an indexing issue.

I fully charged it at 1130 am. It is now 1:52, I've read on it for about 30 minutes and the battery is showing 81%.

Additionally, if you tap that number it will list which books are not yet indexed.

That is to say, well done to Amazon for the consistency, but it's a shame it's not consistently good enough for me.

I'm a lefty so I read with the buttons to the left most of the time.

I don't see any colour cast on the screen. Cameras do tend to be more sensitive to those kinds of problems than our eyes are.

Mine has gradient, it is not very annoying when I am reading, but I prefer one without this problem.

I've come across a situation where that happens. An illustration with a landscape aspect ratio is rotated 90 degrees in the book so as to fill the page (screen). Normally the Oasis just has to be rotated 90 degrees as well and no auto flip occurs. But when one is reclined, the Oasis is already rotated 90 degrees with respect to gravity and there is a 50% chance that the rotation to orient the image will complete the 180 degree rotation of the Oasis and the orientation flip will be triggered and cause the illustration to be upside down. The only cure is to roll over and lie on the other side.

Sorry for the off topic, but when it gets stuck indexing, how can I tell which book is the offender?
