Turn off the password in your calibre content server settings. Androind devices like the T1 dont support digest authentication.

Thank you very much! This fixed my problem. I could open the server, but couldn't download a ebook. It showed me an download error. Sry that I didn't specify my problem correctly!

I'm new to both Calibre and my T1, so I'm still tinkering with things and learning my way around, but I get an error from Calibre every time I connect my device if I have the "Refresh separate covers when using automatic management" option enabled in the device plugin settings. I also have "Upload separate cover thumbnails for books" enabled and I'm using automatic metadata management. Not sure if it's a real bug or just something that hasn't been implemented for the T1 yet.

(Edit: And I'm using the Windows version, if that matters.)

That is a bug, I've committed a fix, but I have no way to tet the fix, so it may or may not work.

Looks like it might do the trick, but now the comment no longer makes sense as it is over the wrong line.

Any chance of getting an option for calibre and Sony prs-1 authentication that works with anything other than digest authentication? I frequently wish to load books when I'm on the road but don't want to be guilty of sharing my library with the whole world.

I'd be willing to pay a little to stay legit and I'm sure others would too.

Hi Kovad,

Is the fix already in the Linux version? I just downloaded the latest from the site and I get a similar problem. The first time I was able to view everything on my reader and even add books to the reader. The second time I connected the reader I got this error:

calibre, version 0.8.24
ERROR: Fout: Fout bij communicatie met apparaat (Dutch: error in communicating with device)

database disk image is malformed

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 81, in run
File "site-packages/calibre/gui2/device.py", line 332, in _books
File "site-packages/calibre/devices/prst1/driver.py", line 177, in books
DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed

I can no longer view what is on the reader in Calibre.

Fixed Means in the next release (or immediately if you run in the Developer environment). S0 it will be 8.25 when you see it.

Calibre normally notifies you (in red near the 3 buttons) when it finds a new version.

Plugin (if installed) Updates show (blue) in the same location .
You only have to decide if/when/what to get. Calibre never updates its self.

That's not a Calibre bug. There seems to be a Sony bug where the SQLite DB gets corrupted because the device-side software is still accessing it when plugged in and in data transfer mode. I've seen someone hit this with the Sony Reader software too.

You will have to repair or delete books.db in order to fix it. I've posted instructions for a Mac user earlier in this thread that will work for Linux as well, assuming you have sqlite3 on the machine.

The work around for me is to make sure I plug it in when it is awake, and that I get a data transfer screen, not the home screen when I put it into data transfer mode. That seems to prevent future corruption once the DB is repaired.
