I see there is a new release, 8.23. Can we use that or do we still have to use the 8.21 beta with the PRS-T1?
thanks |

I just get Japanese version of T1 reader, and is connected with calibre without any problem. thanks for everyone here.
but I found calibre do not detect Japanese ebook files in T1. because they are Japan only ebook format like Voyager dotbook (extension .book), or Sharp XMDF (extension .zbf) which is not supported by calibre. other format like EPub files can transfer or detected by calibre. so my question is, is it possible to support above 2 format in calibre? both format are closed format, so we can not have specification for them. that means it is difficult to convert to/from other format or use metadata in them. but I guess it is nice if calibre can recognize them and can transfer those format to/from T1 device. thanks |

@adonishi: Someone would have to reverse engineer the formats. Personally, I'm not interested, but patches are always welcome.

I thought that what was being asked for was simply the ability to transfer them to the PRS-T1 and recognise their presence, not to be able to actual understand the format.
I guess the ability to add user defined file extensions to a driver might be a generic way to allow calibre to provide some basic capability in transferring such eBook files to/from devices? |

Yes, that's what i mean. off cause, I will be happier if calibre can read inside of ebooks. but reverse engineering is a long ways to go. it is good to have simple transfer ability as a start.

Ah, well that's simple enough. Will be in next release.

Still being new to the Sony I'm probably missing something obvious, but how do I sort the collections properly?
What I mean by that is that in Books it sorts nicely by author and title (ideally, I'd like it to sort by author, pubdate and then title) but in my collections, though the author sort works OK, it does not seem to sort by title. Or at least not consistently. |

You might find this section of the manual useful, as well as this thread. Of course, I have no idea if the T1 may be ignoring all of this and showing you the books in some order it prefers. |

That sorting is fine for the field you pick, but it is unclear how things are sorted beyond that first field. |

I get an error, when I try to download books from the calibre content server. (PRS-T1) Anybody know how to fix this?
