Those would be Horns and NOS4A2.

Thanks
I decided against buying either because I found out one of my libraries has NOS4A2 in epub. Since I've never read Hill before that feels like the better route for me to take this time.

That sounds like good ebook buying.

I have only 'bought' one book this month - the latest Lightspeed Magazine on subscription. Unless some amazing bargain deal turns up, I hope to end the month with no more than half a dozen books bought in all, and three of them will be subscriptions, and the others at a discount from Kobo.

I suspect that discovering the eReaderIQ price tracking site will be a problem for me. I'll be grabbing bargains and rejoicing in my elusive "savings".

Here's my 2014 summary:

Books purchased: 16
Books Read: 11

Money spent $13.64
Budgeted (2014) $1200.00
Balance $1186.36

One of favorite authors has a book on sale for $1.99 [discountable] so that may make book number 17 for this year.

I haven't bought any ebooks lately, but I did a bad thing and bought a PAPER book. Well, no more of that! I don't care if the paper book is cheaper, I will get the ebook always. I hope I've finally learned my lesson.

Ah — you're finding out how unpleasant it is, reading an actual paper book? It's a bit of a shock the first time after using an ereader for a while.

Although I refuse to buy an ebook if it's more expensive than a new paperback!

Yes, holding it open kind of cramps my hands. I should be able to read it, but....sigh....I miss my Kobo.

I know. And perhaps I ought to clarify my remark about not buying the ebook - I just won't buy the book at all, if the ebook is more expensive than a new paper copy.

Technically, the paper book was more expensive, but I had enough points on my reward card to get $5 off at Chapters. The sleep cover I bought for my new Aura got me a lot of points. So I did a silly thing and bought the paper book.

The Hugo voter packet has added either 47 or 39 items to my TBR, depending on whether I count the magazines or not, which I am undecided about. It seems a bit foolish to count a single short story and not count a magazine full of them, but on the other hand a magazine just feels like a different kind of thing to me.

I kind of count that as a semi-purchase, given that I paid for it months ago without knowing what would be in it, and my Worldcon supporting membership was only partly intended as a means of getting stuff to read.

Only about 10 of them are book length, the rest are novellas or shorter, so I hope I should be able to make good inroads in the next few weeks. For my TBR challenge, I only need to read half as many works as I gain, so I don't technically need to read any of the novels/collections.

Not added to my TBR were the Wheel of Time books, which I already own. These are just replacing pbooks for me, which I sorted out for recirculation last night. Oddly, I seem to be missing books 6 and 7 - I guess my brother has them, I lent them out and never got them back, or I borrowed them from the library - and 12 through 14 were already ebooks, but even so I am recovering 17 inches/43cm of shelf space, which makes me very happy. Yes, I measured the height of my stack.
