According to the user manual the feedback and sensivity of those buttons can be adjusted, but to what extent we'll find out once devices start shipping.

The previews seemed to indicate that it was changing your pressure on the sensor to make it change pages, so unless you had a twitchy thumb then holding it would not flick through pages.

So even if the text gets washed out at full, it doesn't matter because nobody will be reading like that. These videoo reviews like to put the light up to full and compare to other devices up full. What would be best is to review the light at realistic reading levels. Just because Reader X is whiter then Reader Y at full is worthless. How do the look at realistic light levels in different situations? That's what we want to know. Last edited by JSWolf; 10-13-2014 at 09:03 AM. |

I just canceled my Kindle Voyage order. I own a Kindle Paperwhite 2013 and a Kindle Fire HDX 2013 and can't really justify a third eReader.
The Voyage just doesn't have enough improvements to justify its purchase. |

I have to say that I'm giving some thought to cancelling my order too. Coming from the K3, the PW2 will be quite an upgrade. And will not be nearly so costly as the Voyage. That might be the ticket for me. I'm glad I jumped in late as my ship date is out far enough for me to ponder my options and maybe get some user feedback before my order ships.

Then I tell myself with a three year insurance policy the difference is now £75, and for three years that's a small price to pay, plus a new case but I love new cases. ![]() Then I remind myself i've never stuck to one ereader for three years ![]() Any my order still stands there, mocking me ![]() Of course I'm having trouble getting a working H20 but then that's another story........ I was dying to upgrade from my PW 1st gen. But when I use it, the last thing I think is, boy I wish the dpi was a little better. To charge a $100 premium for that is crazy. I don't care about auto brightness, it would have been the first thing I turned off. Give me real features and advancements. Give me a larger screen, not huge but a step up from the standard model. Even 1 inch would differentiate from the other e-readers. Give me a fully functional web experience geared to article mode. I would bet my house when the Voyage is released, the "experimental" web browser will still behave exactly like the K3 did. Sometimes, a page will load, other times it will look like it loaded but keep spinning, or it will just spin. This is a connected device, get a real web browser. How about an e-reader basic app store??? Although I don't care about it, still leaving out audio in a premium device is another head scratcher. |
