Yeah, mine came back too. I posted a while back that they stayed gone for like 2-3 days. Then they were back. Thankfully not all of the ones I had in there. But still slightly annoying.

Thanks Blossom for the info. So I can update my nexus then safely? It shows it available in the drop thingy.

Yep you may update now. It's fix just upgrade to the latest Scribd app afterward.

They are working on the recently read glitch. Mine went away for a few hours today but came back.

Well, I am pretty impressed with their speed in customer service so I have believe that they'll fix this soon too.

Updated the Nexus and the app and its charging now, but looked fine when I checked it out.

Did they change anything else in the new version of the app? I really can't stand the line spacing in the current one, but it isn't adjustable.

No it was just a quick fix before that they added notes and highlights but that's all that is new.

Has anyone tried oyster yet, to compare? I would, but have to wait until I can get out my Cc info.

There was a thread over on Kboard in the book corner where a think two people discussed their opinions. If I recall correctly (and this is somewhat doubtful) I think they were mad that they couldn't see the selection without creating an account. But I think one person had before the SCRIBD announcement. I just don't remember what they thought of it.

I have "sold" reads on SCRIBD, but not on Oyster. I'm not sure that says anything at all. I suspect that getting those books from S&S moved the bar quite high. I don't think Inkbok stands a chance of being noticed unless they can get the publishers to sign on with them as well.

It's not worth it at the moment for me. I just installed it, but you can’t even check the app out without signing up for the free month. What if I don’t like the current book selection or don’t like the current formatting options? If the app later improves I will have used up my free month already and won’t be able to check out the changes. Is this how the ios Oyster app works?

Oyster is limited to Apple devices right now. They have had the info in signing up for info when they get a android app last time I checked. Not sure why that would take that long. Scribd has apple, fires and android apps.

The other thing about Oyster is that there is no way to compare as one cannot browse the selections without signing up. There are some limited examples in each genre, but no way to go to the complete list.

Those things alone kept me away from Oyster. I don't have any apple devices anyway. Plus so far I am impressed with Scribd customer service. They doing everything right at the moment to grow their service.

I just like the concept in general. Its great for those that read several books a month.

Thanks. All they needed to do is put a link in the app to the website. If they can't even do that, I can't imagine the rest of their app would be any good.
