for what is worth, my UK reseller has just told me that the machines should arrive at the EU warehouse either friday or next Tuesday (!). I think I'm lucky if I get it first week of January

do not know about pocketbook, but ASUS DR900 is finally on the market, priced €299 (and a €20 voucher on ebooks) at Mediaworld, though it looks like this is just a pre-order.

To get an idea of what it does, there is a user manual, too (though it is in Italian).

EDIT: should have checked the Mobileread thread before posting , there is also an user manual in English.

Ciao Paola!

I just checked on mediaworld's site and in fact there's DR-900...but it's SiPix technology which plenty of posts around the Net said is worse than e-Ink as quality/performance but there are no comparisons yet I think to say FOR SURE that's true...
I'll go anyway to check and try that Asus product to see how it is but I'd like to find a PB902 Pro, and hopefully around a Kindle DXG, to try and compare so I can choose for sure the ideal one for me as like as I do for my hearing-aids before buying new ones. :-)

Ciao,
Luigi

It seems that**3 series delivery could start early next week /at least from Pocketgood/. But you haven't heard it here.
Meanwhile I hope some PB representative to confirm they can sleep better now.

Yeah, they changed my delivery status today to "delivery in preparation" and stated in their guestbook that the devices will definitely be in their stock on Friday. Shipment with the new firmware flashed will start on Saturday. Let's hope it will be true this time!

Yes it is true - I received the info as a response to my order cancellation and I decided to give PB chance despite the guys are not deserve it. So I canceled cancellation But when I hold the device I'll be critical enough if I have to. Anyway, all kudos to Pocketgood - this is the way to go with clients.

IBS will sell a customized version of the 603 soon. We are just now looking for hardware vendors for the rest of our series.

Hello mtravellerh,

IBS is only Internet seller, at least wish I could find someone in northern italy that already buy a 902 Pro to check by hand if it's handyful to me.

Ciao,
Luigi

the supposedly italian one is in fact based in the Netherlands, so even if they had a brick and mortar premise, it wouldn't be really handy

However, the PB603 appears to be going for sale at a much lower price than e.g. Pocketgoods, who are selling it for €269, that is €70 more, while on IBS it will be sold for €199 - and even if you buy it without the pre-order €20 discount, it is still a whole €50 less than from the other re-sellers (including delivery costs in Italy).

I am glad that I preordered a PB903 at a huge discount (which is why I am being very patient), for if I had gone for a PB603 instead, at this stage I would be mightily annoyed, to put it mildly...

IBS does a little subsidizing of the prices. They are interested in selling books first... You can, of course, access the IBS shop with your 903, as well.

HI mtravellerh, not so easy to reach Bolzano... I'm located near Milan which are almost 350Km from Bolzano...
Except if I do a pleasure trip around then it wouldn't be really convenient to ride to Bolzano only to check a PocketBook 902 Pro by my own hands

I'll check with my italian partners. They're around or in Milan quite often. Maybe we can arrange a meeting.
