But of course I'm including Maxwell House and Folgers - and Eight O'Clock and Chock-Full-o-Nuts. All perfectly good American style coffees. Been around as long as I can remember, which means since the 50s, and longer. Not "tasteless" when properly prepared. Usually based on the Columbian bean. There is very little more satisfying than a cup of this kind of coffee after a nice, carb-rich American style meal.

You probably don't understand martinis, either. (Hint - they don't involve vodka.)

Oh...try Honest Tea. In the bottle.
Don't forget the chicory.

It would turn out that Steve does not think that people like round cups, so they would all be in the form of hexagons, with a side panel which would report on the temperature of the remaining coffee, and offering a refill if you buy the extended Heating Element Replacement Plan, and everybody would rave about how they fit your hand perfectly. And it would be a damn fine cuppa iJoe...

Not to mention that the idonuts would have a non-standard hole in the middle too.

This discussion is getting quite interesting ( and I'm only on page 2) - marking thread for later reading.

Interesting question – how would Steve reinvent the hole?

I suppose we start with the question of what, exactly, is a “hole.” Obviously, it is nothing. In fact, it is defined by what it isn’t, namely, it isn’t the stuff surrounding the hole. So the iHole would have to be the result of a rethinking of the stuff surrounding the hole as conceived, Before Steve, or, as we can now say, BS.

Now, if the hole is nothing, the question for Steve is, how do we make the iHole do nothing, but do it better? Well, first of all, of course, we have to raise the price. The iHole will cost 25% more than an ordinary hole. This, in turn, will serve to increase consumer expectations – obviously, a more expensive hole will have to be a much better hole than before, or else it wouldn’t cost more. So by raising the price, Steve has immediately made the iHole a better hole than those holes previously available to consumers.

In the present scenario, the hole that Steve is reinventing is the donut hole. It is fairly clear that the term “donut” derives from “dough nought,” an archaic way of referring to a zero made out of dough. Previously, this sort of product has been improved, or at least, altered, in the form of bagels, which are also “dough noughts.”* It will be necessary, therefore, for Steve to alter the shape of the product. One possible alternative is the Mobius Strip

A mobius strip is a circular object fashioned in such a way that it has only one side. http://scidiv.bellevuecollege.edu/math/mobius.html* The clear implication of this is that in the case of the iHole, the “hole” will be both inside and outside of the dough. From this, we can conclude that the iHole will be infinitely large! Thus, the iHole is a hole which is self-contained, and infinitely large.

At this point, it becomes clear that Steve has ALREADY invented the iHole. It is called “Apple.”
