I just heard about estories.com this week.

I just signed up cuz I've used emusic in the past so I trust the company, and it was free, but I didn't research how it works or anything.

I just grabbed my first free book, and it is indeed downloadable as a DRM-free mp3 collection. Nice.

Has any one tried estories here?

Yes, I just came off a three-month deal. The first book I downloaded was truncated--I only got about half the book. Customer service gave me an extra credit, said it was a problem with the publisher, contacted me a couple of weeks later and said it was fixed--but it wasn't. It still hasn't been after several more weeks.

But they were very nice and they did give me that extra credit, so I'm not out anything except the time and annoyance, and the original book is still in my library, if they ever get it sorted out.

A couple of books I had in my wishlist were not available for a credit--they had a price attached. I don't know why, because they weren't highly expensive books; I didn't try to follow up. But it's an annoyance.

When my current annual membership at Audible is up, I might try eStories again with another promo deal.

For those who want to renew their acquaintance with Ursula K. Le Guin's work, Audible has her The Left Hand of Darkness on sale in the US for $3.95. Not sure how long the sale is for, or if it's part of some other sale, but at that price, I don't see how you can miss. (Narrator is George Guidall, who is generally good.)

It's part of Audible's A Year of Daily Deals sale, which ends on 28 Jan.

Thy're not. Thanks for pointing it out. I missed it. I removed the shortened URL in the posts involved and replaced it with the standard URL.

I have. I took advantage of a free credit in Aug 2016 and am coming off the same 3 month BF deal as Catlady (3 mo @ $0.99/mo).

I've been saving up my credits, so I now have 3 to spend. I plan to use them on a series, but haven't made up my mind on which one to get.

Info on _Problem Solved_, which may save someone the trouble on looking it up . . . . On the _ebook_: ratings: 4.1 (14) at Amazon (but 79% are 5's); 3.56 (6) at Goodreads, which is not real strong for them; however, 6 ratings is simply not a large enough "sample" to get a valid average.

I had the Swagbucks deal, which was three months at half price, with Swagbucks giving me enough points for a $15 Amazon gift card. So in effect it came out to a buck a month.

Ever since I canceled, when I go over to eStories to see the daily deal, I get an offer for half off my first three months. Also, when I checked the Reddit offer mentioned upthread, I'm apparently eligible for that as well, though I didn't take it yet. eStories is showing me logged in, and they're even showing my payment method, so presumably they have no problem with the fact that I came off another promo just a week ago.
