Google now has an audiobook store. It's not a subscription service and titles may or may not be cheaper than other stores.

So Google's going into the audiobook business. That's great to hear. We don't have enough audiobook businesses around. Just like there are not enough self-development and personal development titles being published.

Lost in Space

Hugh had been taught that, according to the ancient sacred writings, the Ship was on a voyage to faraway Centaurus. But he also understood this was just allegory for a voyage to spiritual perfection. Indeed, how could the Ship move, since its miles and miles of metal corridors were all there was of creation? Science knew that the Ship was all the universe, and as long as the sacred Converter was fed, the lights would continue to glow, the air would flow, and the Creator’s Plan would be fulfilled.

Of course, there were the muties, grotesquely deformed parodies of humans, who lurked in the upper reaches of the Ship, where gravity was weaker. Were they evil incarnate, or merely a divine check on the population, keeping humanity from expanding past the capacity of the Ship to support?

Then Hugh was captured by the muties and met their leader (or leaders)—Joe-Jim, with two heads on one body—and learned the true nature of the Ship and its mission between the stars. But could he make his people believe him before it was too late? Could he make them believe that he must be allowed to fly the Ship?

Looks like it is off the current selling price. I was looking at "Norse Mythology" by Neil Gaiman. It is one of the titles on special for the launch at $5.99. Once I claimed the coupon and opened up the title's page it showed as being available for $2.99.

BTW, the files are definitely protected. You can play them through the Google Play Books app. I'm out.

Thanks for mentioning the audiobook. I hadn't run across it (does anyone else, besides me, find it frustrating to simply _browse_ different categories/genres in the Google Play departments?). I have a mild interest in mythology, and a little greater interest in the Norse, having a great-grandfather who was from Norway. I might have to grab that audiobook.

Some people might consider this a mild horror flick, too.

I think that most people would prefer the movie version of _Deliverance_, over the audio version--I thought that the acting was superb, and the scenery beautiful, when I saw the movie quite a few years ago. And I noticed that Google Play has 99-cent movie rentals right now, although I have no idea if that is on their whole catalog, or just select movies.
