framework + framework, no luck...
After the 3rd password attempt, I see this:
"Permission denied (publickey,password)."

So I assume password auth is NOT disabled.
Plus, I reset the config (via the kual usbnet option) - no change in outcome.

You are running the 'main' operating system on a Kindle firmware version (about) 5.2 or more recent.
All system passwords are disabled, the only one(s) that work would be the ones you add to the USBnetwork install (if you added any).

I will repeat my answer given above in case you missed it:
Fix the connector (by replacing it) or trade the PW-1 in @ Amazon.

Ok, if that is the only solution, I understand.
Replacing the usb connector would be a bit challenging for me, but serial access would be easier.

You could just leave it on a charger until NiLuJe gets back from Holiday - he might have left a backdoor in the USBnet installation.

The beta browser should allow downloading content if the server sends the mobi mime format content header. I didn't check where it stores the files - maybe one can use it as a backdoor to install packages.

Regardless, it stores them in [userstore]/documents/"${filename}"
No one has ever thought to make an extension/hack which tries running executable code from there

so downloading the file whether it works or not wouldn't help.

We *could* add code to the jailbreak which tries to execute /mnt/us/documents/emergency.mobi -- specifically for the sake of people with broken USB connectors.
But it still wouldn't help @zxczxc.

Ack, no help for zxc. Anyhow one could really upload all mrp's to Amazon Cloud and add a web installer for them to KUAL. Some days ago named as Kindlets?^^

You've probably already done this but I'm posting this just in case you haven't done it.

Have you tried rebooting the kindle? My kindle recently stopped being recognized by my computer but it was charging properly. A reboot of the kindle fixed it for me as it wasn't a hardware fault.

Reapply jailbreak? I already have done the bridge/hotfix previously

Or only should reinstall KUAL and MRPI packages??

The bridge is either there or it isn't -- if it isn't, then it is too late to reinstall it and you will have to do the entire downgrade shenanigans from scratch.

Just reboot your Kindle to make sure the bridge executes and re-enables KUAL, then use your existing KUAL to reinstall all update_*.bin style hacks.

If that doesn't work, you must have forgotten to jailbreak properly in the first place.

Thanks, sure I tried a few reboots, for me I am 100% certain it is hardware, I can see

I'm surprised it even charges
