WOW! My iLiad was supposed to ship today, instead when I got home there it was!

I already ran into my first problem though... you can only connect to the iDS service to update software etc. through an ethernet or wireless connection. I don't have either (I have a modem that has firewire). Grrrrr. I guess no updated software for me tonight

I'll have to figure out what to do tomorrow.

This thing is just TOO cool though! The screen is very, very nice!

I just connect my iLiad to iDS, it says "Download completed", then it jumps to "Download History", and nothing here. It seems not to be the update process in manuals. Has anbody done the update?

well, you don't *have* to update.

i think i'll wait with the update until i hear that ssh still works.

Maybe someone should build a little backdoor (cronjob, etc.) so that we can fish the password out (if that is the new security).

ok, what about a startup script in rd5.d that sets the root password and starts the sshd if not already started and runs wired.sh?

That would be an solution. We can only hope, that they don't fiddle with the wired.sh and wireless.sh...

Congratulations!

Indeed it is the 25th here in the Netherlands at this moment.
As I understand, download history so far has always been empty after installing a new version.
The download history is more for downloading content I think.
Could be wrong though

You can check your software version by going to the menu, choose Iliad settings and looking in the right upper corner.

I wouldn't wait for version 2.5 today if I were you.
Past Irex deadlines have proven to be somewhat erm... flexible.

I will put my ssh key into trusted_keys, If they don't remove ".ssh" and still run the sshd while connecting to IDS, I'll still be in.

On the bottom of the iLiad, push it sideways, hold for 1 or 2 seconds and let go again.

I know, it's the one thing that you need to switch your iLiad on so you can get to the user manual...
