Page count is innaccurate in epub?
I've noticed that if I zoom to Medium, my # of pages doesn't increase, and often I'll get 2 page turns= 1 page number increase. I'm having some trouble getting it to add covers, it seems that if I add a cover I prefer by editing the Metadata and then converting, it only stays in caliber, rather then replacing the cover image in the .lit, or .epub. I'm also getting having trouble with a book that seems to be designed to be wider then allowed? it is a .lit file, attached is a pic of it at standard size for caliber/sony, and a pic of it wide enough to read naturally. I have to drag the window wider for it to be readable. I've tried 10pt and now I'm trying to use 12 pt as my base font size, I'm not sure if that is affecting it. Just to be safe, I tried using 0 pt as well and it turned out the same. Last edited by JGB; 10-15-2008 at 10:00 PM. |

that lit file probably contains txt rather than HTML, which is why it isn't reflowing. Some old/badly made lit files suffer from this problem.

Is there anything I can do to fix it?
maybe by converting the epub into lrf or something? or somehow convert it to html first?(maybe chuck it in a html editor, let it add line breaks etc at the right places then save it as html?) What about the cover images, is that related to the txt instead of html as well? Is there any way to tell what a .lit contains? |

pardon another dumb question, how do I enter commands? all I could find about lit2oeb was that it was replaced by a modified version of convert lit?
I tried searching the help provided by the link in caliber, but came up with nothing. |

' Parsing temp\calibre_0.4.96_yueayv_any2epub1\Copyright.htm l Processing stylesheet c:\docume~1\ccin12~1\locals~1tempcalibre_0.4.96_vp 6jnk_h tml2epub\content\Copyright_files\filelist.xml... I think this is probably a dimwit problem - but I know nothing about satyle sheets - can anyone translate this into laymans terms please? The Html file open fine in firefox etc..... |

All that means is that your source file references a missing stylesheet. Most probably your book will look fine even without the stylesheet.

I must say that it is less than convenient to have to quit and restart the program for the books to show up in the library.
How is it that this was not an issue in earlier versions, i.e. 0.4.94? |

A query about using BookCreator.dot.
I have an RTF file which I have edited using BookCreator.dot marking the various chapters. When I use the epub create button within BookCreator.dot it creats the epub with the TOC fine. But if I load the same RTF into calibre (0.4.96) and create an epub there is no TOC. Is there some setting I should use in the epub creation dialogs? |
