I cannot seem to find the ePub conversion settings at all. I'm using the GUI version, and looking under Convert eBooks/Set Defaults for Conversion/ but don't see any mention of ePub...am I looking in the wrong place? Calibre 0.4.95 OSX Leopard 10.5.5 |

How is this a "DE feature" if we're converting books to EPUB within calibre and copying it over manually? Or does the Reader use an embedded DE library of some kind?

DE has an algorithm to compute page sizes based on text content. It displays the computed page sizes as an overlay in the main text area so that you know at exactly what line a page transition occurs. This is probably done because Adobe's customers are still wedded to page numbers, so Adobe needs to be able to specify page numbers, like in a paer book.

Kovid, thanks for the information, but my question remains. What role does DE have in the equation when Calibre is creating the file or in displaying it on the Reader?
