Well I ordered an aura one and cover at 12:45 am from kobo and no notice of shipping yet. No help from cust serv.

This level of incompetence by Kobo US customer care is unbelievable. Briefly, here's the sequence of events:

August 30: Ordered Aura One
Sept 1: Received confirmation (no shipping notice)
Sept 6:
Received email saying they can't ship to P.O. box and instructing me to send them an address they can use.

- I reply saying my address is not a P.O. box but gave them another shipping address anyway.

- Received email stating the ticket was closed and I would receive tracking # when package ships. Told me to respond with any further questions.

- I respond asking for an explanation of why my shipment was delayed when my address was not a P.O. box.

- Received repeat email stating the ticket was closed and I would receive tracking # when package ships.

Sept 7: Receive email answering that delay was due to my change of address.

Hello!? I only changed my address because you mistook my original address for a P.O. box! This is like I just came from another planet and no one understands me!

I called several times but I could never talk to a real person in the shipping Dept.

I just hope this Aura One is worth the aggravation. I just want to say I'm really very happy for those of you who have received yours with no glitches.

First there was no possibilty to pre-order over here. Then I ordered yesterday at Mediamarkt Germany, after my inquiry on shipping times with Kobo when ordering directly from their site wasn't answered.

Mediamarkts website said the order would take 4 -5 days. I just received an apology from Mediamarkt stating that Kobo won't be able to deliver for an indefinite time.

ASAIK there is no shop neither bricknmortar nor virtual delivering the damn thing right now in Germany. I am sooooo frustrated right now.

If anyone has a tip for me where to get it, I'd be grateful!

I don't think there should be any problem ordering it from fnac. (I have never ordered from them, though...)

I'm liking it so far. The battery loss seems to be normal after all the fiddling I did with it last night with the Wi-Fi on. I left the auto sync on until just a bit ago. cons so far: Overdrive integration isn't what I was expecting. Checking out hold requests wirelessly to device doesn't seem available at this point. It doesn't actually access your OD library record to access checkouts/requests and lists. If it is there, they certainly aren't making it intuitive or obvious to me. (I can see the items I checked out through Kobo/Overdrive on my library record, though)

Actually I can't tell, I am not able to submit anything into the "create an account" form. It's not so important anymore. I'll have something else to play with. The tablet is of the El-Cheapo variety and I think I'll try to root it. Have never done so, so it should keep me busy for a while.
