Count me as one of those that would love 6.8" screen on a Kindle. That's my absolute favorite thing about my Aura HD. If it had a capacitive touch screen I'd use it much more often.

Just ordered.
I'm back at the price I paid for my original Kindle 1, which for $400. I've saved $5 after ticking it out.

My last purchase was the 1st gen Paperwhite which I've never been completely happy with because of the blotchy screen. I skipped the Voyage and hope the Oasis will be the one. Really looking forward to page turn buttons again.

There is proof the Oasis does not have a plastic substrate. The proof is that the Oasis uses a Carta screen and Carta screens are glass. SO there goes the plastic theory right down the toilet.

The cynic in me says they don't have many to start with (not tens of thousands) as they want the date to slip, it encourages an 'I must order before it runs out, or I won't get one' mentality. How many get returned, well that we'll never know.

Well that and not wanting to pay to manufacture tens of thousands and have them just sit and collect dust either. I feel like the first run is always limited to "test" the waters and see how many actually get ordered.

It's designed for one-handed holding. The thicker side gives you a place to rest your thumb without obscuring the screen.

It can be used with either hand. The screen is obviously reversible, but I don't know if that has to be changed in settings or if it has an auto flip mode.

I can honestly say I have never read one handed, I like to hold my kindle like a book with both cover and kindle held, or with both hands, the cover folded behind. That's why I like the page press sensors on both sides.

I usually use only one hand at a time, but I'm constantly switching hands. That's why I like the haptic page turns on both sides.
